In many ways his government is even more cruel than the previous one (which is saying something). As an example, funding for disabled kids education and transport that even the Conservatives wouldn't dare touch has been gutted. I therefore refuse to give them any slack just because this bill was introduced by the previous administration. Keeping things back on topic, while there's been some backlash to the restrictions, the predictable editorials on UK news sites are coming out in response to these restrictions. Namely "This bill doesn't go far enough, think of the children!". So I doubt they're gonna go away anytime soon. Quote
