Trump rolls back trans and gender-identity rights and takes aim at DEI

There is a whole lot of "wait and see" here @PozTalkAuthor.  the Orange Geezus advertised he was intending shock and awe for those of us who didn't vote for him.  Honestly, freeing convicted violent criminals and inviting them to the WH for a planning session is pretty shocking.  So he has been successful this week.  Muskrat appears to be digging a hole for himself not unlike Donny minions before.  So let's see where that goes, it's hardly done.  

There is an election season coming up.  And depending upon the details that emerge over the next month - Debt limit for example is going to fuck some things up and those in power are happy to shut down the government to get their way.  So... We'll see.  It might come to a "see who blinks".  

MAGA faithful are cult followers.  So facts and reason aren't at play with them.  They will worship their cult leader until they either die; or have a new awakening.  My thinking is that they're happy to die.

Glad you didn't put Australia 🇦🇺 into that mix. We are about to (fairly certain) get a new Right wing government in upcoming Federal elections (March) & as our wealthy🧐 elites, Gina Rhinehardt et al, are all in Trumps pockets, things are not looking good. Mind you, our Left wing (current) State & Federal governments have ALL made an absolute mess & it has simply encouraged right wing LOONIES to surface.

So I don't think we're in much of a position right now to predict.  A few weeks will be telling...  

My question doesn't assume what will happen WRT gay marriage.  But in the event SCOTUS, either on their own or at Donny's behest; perhaps eliminating the need for big corporations from providing benefits to gay partners; what are the known ways that might work.  Would existing still have to be recognized?  Or would all be instantly annulled?  

I don't believe Trump thinks, with alternatives. He will issue executive orders & let SCOTUS deal with the mess.

When Dems return to the Whitehouse, they will spend their entire term rebuilding the entire framework of Justice, in the US.

Poverty & loss of "FREEDOM OF", are two factors that will turn, even the most hardened sycophants, away from their DEVILESSIAH 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬👿👿. Just a question of time.

The big problem will be those on the political left (myself), who have become so very tired of the ructions (myself) to social cohesion caused by those extreme radical elements - so far Left they are in another galaxy, that have & will become more comfortable with their own (slight) move to the Right. I have found my self shifting to a more nuanced & balanced centre Left to centre Right political position, than simply being Left wing. 

Illegal immigration is an issue requiring strong governance & yet I would never agree with those "illegals" already settled, working, paying taxes & raising families just being deported en masse. 

Land rites is another issue needing attention BUT, the violence & destruction of historical monuments is NOT OK. Mass demonstrations, violence & burning 🔥 of National flags 🇦🇺 on a countries slated National Day is again, NOT OK. 

I have, over the years (onset of "OLD" age) come to believe that any form of violence, when demanding change, is EXTREMELY COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE, especially when statistics show that you are fighting the 69% who do not desire change eg: Australia 🇦🇺 Day. Protestors & violence not only enshrine the opinions of these 69% but also draw greater numbers to adopt this attitude against change. The Voice Referendum of 2023 failed with 69% against & this result has only served to increase the numbers who want Australia 🇦🇺 Day to remain on 26 January amongst other divisive issues which will arise. No doubt with our Conservative Party winning the next election (March / April) more divisive issues will boil over. Unfortunately, Australia will be left to deal with a Trump, Mini-Me (Peter Dutton) & our wealthy business elite, if they do win government. 

It is this group that the Democrats will need to win back & it will only happen with alot of soul searching & the Dems moving back to a more REALISTIC centrist Left position.

US NORMALS would love to have you. Unfortunately, the next few years, I think, may well be a very sad case of who is in government. This country has a high proportion of SWING VOTERS & now that we have ever increasing Independent members of Parliament, the "Woke" Left & the Ulttra Conservatives will tear the country apart. Many politicians get elected via one of our two major parties, they resign from that party & then they remain , in Parliament, as an Independent politician. 

We also have to many minority groups that hold tremendous power over the Labor (Left), Trans, Environment, Renewables, Absolute Child Care, Illegals & Liberal/Nationals (Right), zionism, Mining, Banking/Finance & wealthy Business. 

This country is very rapidly losing any Centrist values & the Homeless, old age & disabled Pensioners & our Veterans are paying the price with poor financial assistance & the extremely low availability of proper housing. 

I am considering that my future will be with my family in Sweden, as Australia is becoming financially unviable as far as cost of living goes. The AUD goes nowhere towards any reasonable living standards, unless you are more than wealthy.

Just received news that Trump has signed another of his executive orders, that gay rights within the Army will be eliminated, diversity no longer exist within the Army and other forced.

Military staff who where sacked for refusing covid Jans, will be reinstated.   It all becomes weird.   He has plans to scrap HIV research and aid.

I keep seeing this sentiment in many recent discussions but I am not so optimistic. He has made many 'joking' comments about keeping office past two terms(even today he said it), and two days ago they introduced a bill to increase it to three terms. The 12th and 22nd amendments technically have four distinct ways to become president but only bars a "termed out" president from one of them. Also, has anyone here read up on what is outlined in Project 2025? If not, I implore everyone to check out pages 5 and 554 at a minimum; it conflates 'LGBTQ ideology' with pornography, calling for those who share information about transgender identity to be imprisoned and classified as “sex offenders,” and for companies and platforms that spread such information to be shut down - sites like BZ. It goes on to call for the death penalty of said offenders (p554).

I recently broached some of this with an older gay friend of mine, and he seemed quite unaware of all of this as he celebrated Trump's victory which has me wondering about others in our communities - we can't let them divide us.
