Because ANY illegal law targeting a minority group eventually ends up targeting the majority. Besides, it’s cruel and discriminatory. 
 

BTW, there’s NO majority anti-MTF/FTM platform on this site. If so, whoever it is should be ashamed of themselves - and they need to be reported.

How will we know that there's a new AIDS pandemic (or a bird flu pandemic)?  It is likely that the information will be withheld by the CDC.  Just as I feel that unemployment, CPI and other economic information is likely to be withheld or manipulated.  Inflation?  What inflation?

I'm hoping that when the Republicans try to pass actual legislation the Democrats will finally show some gumption.  The Republican majority margin in the House is so thin that they will find it difficult to pass anything with some Democratic votes and the filibuster will help slow things down in the Senate, unless the Republicans foolishly abolish it.

But, in the meantime, there's no reason for Democrats to be so silent.  How about a media campaign that highlights that of all the things that Trump has done, he hasn't done a damn thing about food prices (yes, I know that is mostly out of his power, but he PROMISED!)?  And, he promised to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours.  The campaign to retake the House and Senate in two years should've started yesterday.

i think what will likely happen is that there will be a resurgence of blue dogs in 2026. fetterman isn't going to be a manchin at all: he's likely going to be part of a potential reset the democrats may take to go further to the right. recent polling does suggest democrats are out of alignment with the general electorate, so i wouldn't be surprised they do step further right. you will see more and more democrats eventually approve or try to outflank trump's economic positions. they will be more muted on gun, abortion, and lgbt policy.

Abortion is one area that the polls indicate that the Republicans are out of step with the electorate, except in the most very, very red places.  Democrats would be foolish to cede ground on that issue.

i'd agree: what many people overlook is that abortion is also an economic issue as well giving the right of women to work freely

That's an interesting idea, and I very much hope you can make it work.  I would imagine a parade of BZ'ers - pissed off as hell, and horny as fuck - would impress at least a few folks.  

I would suggest your local (if there is one) LGBT+ political organization, and if there isn't one, then start one.  You can get help with that from the National LGBT+ organization(s), if you need help.  Or, if you believe you'd have better luck with something non-related, the DNC would be fully supportive.  Also, ask your Dem legislators in your state to help.  There's also a major metro area not too far from you, and there will definitely be resources (i.e. a new chapter starting in your area) to help.  

Organize.  Build support.  Resist.  There will be midterms in a couple of years, and politically-speaking, that's an eyeblink or three.  

There are two such organizations (LGBT+) here in Ft. L. - one local and one the local chapter of the State Dem Organization, and I belong to both, as well as the National Regular Dem Org. 

Having our hearts and minds in the right place is fine - as far as it goes - which is hardly far enough now.  If you were active before, become more active.  Support organizations that support freedom.  Consider it a tithe - except it's going to a good cause, rather than something that stands against your interests.  

This is how we win the next round of elections, and do our best to preserve our hard-won freedoms already achieved.

That's an interesting thought.  I wonder, however, if any real Dem would attempt to get elected via "seconding" the red wave.  The election cycle will start again in about a year, if not less, and the Dems will be hammering for at least a full year before the midterms; some already are.  By that time however, there will be an appreciable number of votes up for grabs, as the R's who feel betrayed by T re-think their vote in this past round.  T's recent actions appear almost child-like to most paying attention, and as the detritus of his flailing about results in the chickens coming reeeeeeal close to home to roost, there will be many prospective Dem voters to "bring home".  

In short, Trumpism will be defeated by it's own followers reactionary blowback.

I hope that @hntnhole.  It does seem like a likely scenario.  And the P2025 group knows that time is short to get it set as much as they can.  February should see a shitstorm of lawsuits.
