Pope Francis - A LGBTQ ally or not really.

Was the late pope Francis a friend of the gays or not really. What will his legacy be with regard to gay rights? Will the "blessing" by a priest of a gay couple allowed by the Declaration: Fiducia Supplicans under his reign be his lasting legacy as the document that ushered in ecclesiastical and liturgical acknowledgement and eventual acceptance of homosexuality, Or will he be remembered for his anti gay policies: such as referring to transexual rights as a nuclear bomb that threatens society and opposing the acceptance of gay priests to the Seminary?

"Rome was not built in a day" & Pope Francis broke a thousand years of ecclesiastical dogma to even recognise gays let alone their "UNIONS".

   Without being transphobic & becoming a "marked" man, the issue of trans rights in particular M2F, looked at realistically, 00has been like a world-wide nuclear explosion over the last decade. Particularly since Trump & his fascist thinkinking invaded World politics, not just right wing proponents have run with trans rights as a source of societies moral turpitude. 

  We can only hope that recognition of gay marriage does not take another thousand years & that further & comprehensive examination of trans rights follows.

I honestly have many, many doubts on his loyalty towards our community.

First of all, we always are considered sinners. So, reasoning from the religious point of view, there is a welcoming behaviour on Earth, which is needed to guide you through the inevitable hell.

Like someone caressing your head and saying "poor unlucky puppy!" Simply fuck off!

Unlike previous church's communication, this Francis has been very, very good in talking. Like placing the right dose of sugar, around a very bitter pill.

His goal was to bring more people close to the church and he might have managed to do it.

Anyways, being a rationalist, I never trust what a religious leader says regarding matters which are obstacled by religion. Because religions will NEVER accept sex freedom.

Having people sexually free around them, makes religion's power become useless, needless. And religion is basically CONTROL.

So let me say: the pope? He died? Cemeteries are full of unreplaceable people. 

Do I hate him? No, not him in particular. I hate church ideology. In general. But let me say, I 100 percent respect his discussions about peace.

Agreed.

While any leader of any group will have some kind of platform, his was world-wide, and he did speak out in favor if treating others with compassion, all the generally-accepted "positive" values. Not that I paid much attention,  but he managed to avoid pushing all the overweening magic stuff.  That was refreshing.
