Does every gay guy have pig potential?

I know too many guys who, usually for professional reasons or personal relationships, pretend that sex isn’t so major to them.

But then I see them on hookup apps, at bathhouses, at sex parties, etc.    Whenever there’s a gay gathering in a city, whether it be for Pride, sports, conventions, conferences, the apps and bathhouses are full.

Love it when I see guys I know as executives, lawyers, doctors, politicians taking all comers while in a sex dungeon sling.

Do all gay men have pig potential?  Do most go through a piggy phase at least?

Have you come upon guys you thought were strait laced being piggy?  Do tell!

I don't think all gays are piggy or go through a biggish phase. My pig phase started in 1989 and is still going strong, but I moved to an area in 2007 where you rarely find guys being piggy even at the bathhouse, ABS or any other place guys go to hookup. When they reach critical mass, they are pretty successful at suppressing piggishness for everyone.

I come across as a pretty straight laced guy. One who has had a long career in tech consulting, but still hit the sex clubs and other hookup spots and go total pig at every opportunity. I've had the situation where I fucked with a straight laced looking guy at a sex club on Friday or Saturday, then met him as a key player on a new project on Monday.

Interesting.  How did that meeting go?

While I think a lot of guys are inhibited from being more piggy due to potential STIs and fear of social judgments if discovered, I do think there is a group of men (I don’t know how large) are fundamentally uninterested is anonymous sex. I wish it weren’t so, but they feel the way they feel.

I wonder, with the relatively new expectation of marriage, are gay boys now mainly focused on finding life partners rather than wild, frequent, nasty sex?

We pretended not to know each other, and refrained from having sex again until the project was complete.

I have similar experience...we also pretended to not know each other...but met twice on crusing spot during the time of our work cooperation and didn't hesitate to have sex.

i think ALL men have pig potential as it built into our DNA. it seems more nature to me. to act upon it or not act upon it seems more nurture to me. lonliness, slut shaming, guilt, all seem more like things society invented rather than intuition.

it does appear that men are more naturally piggy than women, and certainly societal norms and sexist roll play exaggerate this. so it's not surprising to me that men often turn to other men for guilt free pig play even  if they don't self identify as gay.

then there's context: i came of age during the scary aids crisis years so it not surprising to me that everyone seemed much less slutty back then.

it does seem some people are more drawn to it as a lifestyle but i'm always shocked to meet young pigs. for me i definitely got piggier and piggier as i got older. at this age it's like vanilla just does nothing for me i might as well just not bother. 😜

i can't remember the last time i met a married couple who weren't open. but then again, i was monogamously gay married for years and we rarely left the house even to non-sexually socialize. i lost all but 1 of my gay friends while married. so maybe non-piggy gays are all home netflix and chilling and i meet a lot of pigs looking for group action because they actually left the house 🤣

To the OP though, I think virtually every guy has the potential, but not every guy has the chance to actually become a sexual pig.  Location can play a big role in the potential development, if one lives far enough from a major metro area.  It can become a burden if one has to travel for a couple of hours to even get to a sexual pigsty.  There are, of course, other variables involved, family pressures, religious pressures, cultural repressions, on and on.

That said, almost all of us have the ability - even hidden deep down in our subconsciousness - to revel in wanton sex.

I'm sure that is true of a few, in other cases it is just one of the current fads to use as an excuse for their gay romantic sexuality.

Great answer.  Every guy could be a pig given the right opportunities.  It was definitely like that for me.  Prior to PrEP I would never of thought I could be a pig.  Thanks to PrEP and some other changes in my life I have been able to embrace it.
