What's all the uproar about Epstein with the Maga crowd?

I know there have to be some Maga guys here on BZ, and I have a sincere question:  Why are the Maga folks so pissed off about the "Epstein Files"?  

Why would Maga folks give a rats ass about Epstein?  Everyone with a tv or other ways to keep up with the news knows that Trump doesn't want these "Epstein Files" released, and for good reason.  Even modestly-informed people know by now that he and Epstein were good buddies back in the day, went whoring together, did all kinds of mischief together.  That's hardly "news" anymore.  

Epstein died in the clink - either voluntarily or not - and the Maga crowd can't possibly be mourning that loss.  Who would?  These "files", records, whatever they are, could only do more damage to the hero of the Maga folks, so why are they so pissed off that these "files" haven't been made public?  Who would care if they ever are?  The guy has been dead and gone for years now, and whatever is contained in these "files" would almost certainly reflect poorly on the President.  I would have thought that the Maga folks would be in-step with the whoremonger-in-chief, but for some reason these folks are mightily pissed off about whatever's in these files that they simply need to know about.  Their hero could only be further sullied, if every last detail in the pile of dirty laundry came to light.  

I simply don't understand this uproar, why it's happening, and how the Maga agenda could possibly be furthered by releasing even more sordid details than is already know.  

If someone can make this clear, thanks.  If not, thanks anyway.

The best I can figure out, is that they are sure the contents will confirm one or more of the conspiracies that they have been believing and promoting. Some of the MAGA focus their devotion on His Orange Hindness as their savior, other members of MAGA are clearly devoted more to the conspiracies and are ready to reject Trump if he fails to confirm.

I've said before, in this forum and others that MAGA isn't as monolithic as it superficially appears to be. I'm not even going to guess what this does to them as a coalition, every time I try to apply any kind of logic or reason to their coalition they prove me wrong.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't pay much attention to the Maga crowd, and I don't possess any affinity with them.  

Maybe there's more to the Epstein mess than just raping drugged-up young women, but there has to be some reason beyond the obvious.

I was watching (something) on TV .. from what I understood - there's different elements to this .. 

some just want to have the name list released (though whether there is one or isn't clear .. there was .. now there isn't .. who knows) - regardless of who is on it - Dem or Rep - they want the names released so everyone knows who the [banned word]/pedos are.  The problem with that is (from what i understood) there are a LOT of names on the files that have nothing to do with the sex issues - some are just people who met Epstein at some event .. 

2 of his now staff use to spew conspiracy theories - and now they're part of his staff - and are saying "no conspiracies" - no name lists - and it's now a credibility issue

Trump also sometimes says stuff "off the cuff" - and he wanted everything released .. now .. not so much .. and you pull in Bondi who really has to learn how to speak clearly and precisely - and the water muddies .. that and anytime you deal with Trump the water muddies .. 

So .. they've pretty much dug their own holes .. and the very strict/far right MAGAs just want everything released.  And with Trump saying no and making negative comments about them - the party is fracturing .. 

Just my 2 cents .. which is worth nothing cuz i'm not MAGA and to me it's interesting to watch all the infighting ..
