At 40 days with an oral test you are at around 90% detection probability, so pretty good. Try to get an Insti home test, it's a little faster.

If you want freedom to hookup short notice maybe daily prep is better? I know there's reasons why guys might not want to take it daily though. For example I haven't switched to daily because it makes my stomach more sensitive with food and I don't want to be dealing with that all the time. But for many guys it seems to be all ok and no problems, so it's an option for them.

I had a similar situation happen, got sick as hell after meeting up with a couple. I was also told that 90 days would be the 'real' test, but the rapid test was neg. After 90 days, I was still neg, and after a year, still neg.

That's a very valid point, I haven't got on PrEP, because I don't want to take it on a daily basis but apparently there's a shot now and also this 2-1 regimen. When I'm at my rural farm I go weeks & months without sex, so I can't see the need of taking PrEP for my life style.

I did the injections for a while, two shots a couple of weeks apart to start then one every 2 months. I just wasn't having sex often enough, so I went back to 2-1-1.

On demand is flexible and pretty easy when you know the rules. And when you do it right you're protected for the times you have sex without taking tablets all the time. For example when I have a meet with a guy and use prep on demand I only need to take four tablets total. And it doesn't matter if you go a long time between meets because for the weeks or months you don't need it the tablets just go in the cupboard and you don't need to think about or take any. I take them either for a specific meet, which means just four tablets total. Or I take them in advance for a weekend or holiday away when I'll probably meet one or more guys and just want to be ready to have fun whenever that happens during the trip. The rules for covering a weekend or holiday depend which days you have sex, and you'd need to learn the rules from a health professional, but following what I've been taught a 7 day holiday would be at maximum 10 tablets total for me, which isn't a lot really for being covered for a whole week long holiday or business trip. The tablets I get have pretty long dates on them so it's ok to put them away for a while.

I think the injection is not a thing where I live, but maybe in the future. It would have the downside of having to go in for injections, but it could be good to avoid affecting my stomach as I won't be eating it. Handy for some guys. Also forgetful guys, I know some are bad at remembering pills. A friend I meet for fun has a memory problem and I always message him before and the two days after to take them if we meet or he meets another guy. Maybe there should be a prep app for guys who need reminding to take it and help to remember if they already did.

You almost certainly should get tested, but your should not worry. It is the worry-ing that gets you and runs down your immune system.

So I just took another OraQuick test, 60 days after getting bred in the park by a guy who may be poz, and it showed negative.

This test may be 99% accurate after 60 days, but not 100% until 90 days it says.

lol, I am relieved, but also of a feeling I am not quite sure about. It might be disappointment, it would put my life on a whole different course, and I have been thinking about it, and it wouldn't be bad I don't think.

So now I am pretty confident I did not get pozzed by this guy. I am somewhat confused by my feelings. When I first realised I might have been exposed to hiv i was panicked! What a stupid thing to have done! Then I started to think about the actual event, I remembered lots of little details and thought it pretty hot. I jerked off a lot thinking about it and then playing with and looking at my cum, just thinking it might actually have HIV in it! I ate some off my fingers every time. I totally know right where you are coming from. I thought a guy might have pozzed me last summer. Got fucked good at the bathhouse by a guy. Lots of cum in my ass.
