That's for sure .... I used to use several of them, held on to BBRT for a while when I was keeping that cumdump, but when I got tired of all the drug-mess and kicked him out, I ditched that last one too.  Never missed it, either.

Miss having a local bathhouse. Although at times, even that would be a bust…nobody would be fucking. Usually, I’d still be able to find someone up for play and getting off. The apps  are full of fakes, you can tell the ‘visiting from….” Aren’t legitimate profiles. They usually are fit, uber hung, pornstar looks and don’t reply if you manage to contact them.  I’m kinda burned out on the apps right now. They’re a big fucking waste of time.

I honestly can't even blame the apps (although all the bots are a turn off). It seems like in general, at least where I live, folks just aren't the mood to get out and get laid since the pandemic. It's like everyone's just too comfortable sitting around at home with their Amazon Prime.

It's starting to feel like I couldn't even get laid if I was standing in a whorehouse waving a stack of hundreds over my head.

Must agree with you on bathhouses, and the one I used to like when I visited Philly has now since closed. I get the impression that no one really does that so much anymore so the demand has decreased and supply has shrunk like a micropenis.

I still have profiles on apps, and they are clear af on what I'm seeking, but I've as much as given up on every finding anything. And damn if I don't always get people who don't bother reading that and still respond if they aren't what I'm seeking. For instance:

• Bareback-only. I get every condom profile in a 500 mile range.
• Local only. Every fucking one who responds I need to get my travel agent involved in my sex life.
• NPNC. And here come the blank profiles with no pic or details.
• Lack of conversation. Again, it gets heavy and tiring lifting 100% of the weight of interaction to only get 5-word answers.

Makes me feel like Susan Powter wanting to yell "stop the insanity!"

I was on a few apps over the years. Some disappeared, some just quit being of any value. The last two, A4A, BBRT were just flakes and bots. I did get a bunch of shit when I went on PrEp, so that was a thing. Seemed like I only got useless questions that were already answered in my profile. Pic collectors, one word answers, and of course bots. I deleted the last two nearly 10 years ago.

It's interesting to me that early days of apps, were very productive. I have always been baffled why it changed so drastically.

The first app I tried was gay dot com. I had a hookup with a cute 19yo within 20 minutes. Bear in mind, that I live in a very rural area to boot. What happened???

In the early days the apps started out being used by motivated early adopters who were into meeting.

Then they became mainstream - there was suddenly a ton more choice - and people started to chase the perfect guy - and it's incredibly rare that if A thinks B is a hot ten, that B also thinks the same of A.  It's a bit like when saunas get busy everyone walks around and around. 

Now they are really a form of soft porn. People go on them to get off on the idea of meeting, not to actually meet. Hence why people disappear suddenly or ghost once the've shot their nut. 

I think if you want to meet people, then go out to cruise, saunas, bars, clubs, etc.. Support the businesses or we'll lose them.  

Can the apps be fixed? Probably not, but a lot could be done to improve them.  Some kind of uber like reward/scoring/rating system - maybe gated by having to have your smartphones in close proximity to perform the rating to prevent abuse.
