pupHawaii Posted Tuesday at 11:35 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 11:35 PM Something happened on twitter i've never run into before and i thought it was important to share - and remind everyone - PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNTS! Got a message from a user - apologizing for reporting me to X/twitter for scamming him! Then he says in the message - i'm sorry because i realize it wasn't you it's someone else - and you need to help fix this. I responded back to him - WTF? YOU report me - and you realize it's was wrong - and you want me to fix it? I told him you need to fix this yourself. He responds back with a copy of an email from X/twitter which bascically says that twitter has suspended me - and If i don't reach out to a twitter employee on Discus in the next 12 hours it will be permanent. Well I looked up the user on Twitter - and surprise! The other user account was created on 08/2025 - and he's in Uganda. AND i never received any message/email from twitter. I immediately blocked and reported the original sender - and the user in Uganda. Through the whole thing I'm updating twitter Premium Support - and they get back to me saying - here's how to prevent Phishing and Scamming. I have NEVER seen a phishing/scam thing like this before! I've posted this on X/twitter - but obviously - it applies to ALL your accounts! MAKE SURE YOU PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT! 1 - create a strong password! 2 - add 2FA/two-factor-authentication to your account! There are MANY phishing/scam messages on twitter! Protect yourself so you don't lose access to your account! Stay safe online out there! 2 Quote
verbalBTTM Posted yesterday at 01:46 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:46 AM Glad you caught that instead of falling victim to that. Seriously fuck those scammers straight to a CIA black site where souls beg for a quick release from life 1 Quote
badubydo Posted yesterday at 02:16 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:16 AM It’s actually a common scam across multiple platforms. Anytime they tell you or say you need to message somebody on a different platform, it’s a scam 1 Quote
ellentonboy Posted yesterday at 04:31 PM Report Posted yesterday at 04:31 PM Or try to convince you to get off the platform and go to another, usually they are up to no good or going to propose something that is illegal.. I know many of us go to telegram because it is easier to communicate. But once they start asking if you are interested in their "content", or ask for an Apple gift card - RUN!. (Actually just block their ass.) 2 Quote

(Actually just block their ass.) I ran into something similar last week. Some dude agreed to hook up off Sniffies here in NOLA and then messaged me ON THE WAY TO HIS HOUSE telling me he wanted me to pick up an Apple gift card "for his kids" to keep them occupied WHILE WE HAD SEX in the other room. That was a huge huge huge huge nope. Luckily I saw the message BEFORE I got to his house, so turned around and went home. BLOCK BLOCK BLOCKITY BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK. 1 1 Quote
PozBearWI Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago I ran into nearly exactly the same thing here in WI on Grindr early last week. Quote

Just wow. that’s why I try to not park in front of a hookups place where it is my first time. My car had noticeable decals on it so last thing I need is for somebody to find me bc I bounced once I noticed something odd in their messages. I always double check my messages too before I say I parked. I’m not going to walk up and be surprised when there is an extra person or more there that we didn’t discuss or anything else… Quote
ShyPiggy Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Since my Twitter got more popular, I no longer even check my DMs, because it's usually a scammer. So I basically connect with people on Twitter, and then we DM on another app. I have my info for the other app pinned, but I have a private account, so only people who follow me can see it. Quote
ellentonboy Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago When it comes to Twitter, or "X", I am the first to admit that I enjoy the content, there's a ton of porn on that site. If anything, you can find more there, for free, then anywhere else. But becareful what you "like" or comment on. On more than one occasion I have had guys, most who are in their early 20s, reach out and say hello to me. It's funny, they all happen to live in my area - well, so they say. The beginning and end of end month these guys are really active, trying to get you to buy their "content". I am not interested. I had at least two tell me they needed money to get to the end of the month, or needed money to pay their rent. I am not a walking ATM machine, and I have maybe said six words to them, yet they expect me to help them. I've been solicited, one guy asking me boldly for $300 to "swing by my place for an hour". Rather than take a screen shot and get his account suspended, I merely blocked him. But I do enjoy the "window shopping" that X offers, and in many cases you can find 30 to 45 minute long movies on there that are quite good, from studies and performers I have never seen before. So it has it's good points! 1 Quote

As @ellentonboy says, beware of messages from those who are "close" by...or aren't and just sell constant sob stories. Quote
