  1. Sorry, but on this topic the progressives and the hard right are both supporting censorship of porn and are a threat to sexual expression. The GOP wants to censor porn for "moral" reasons. The progressives want to censor porn for feminist reasons (e.g. "all porn is an abuse of women"). Politics is circular (or at least horseshoe shaped). The far left and far right often come to the same conclusions - just for different reasons. Both encourage censorship and are anti-free speech. Don't believe me? 2. I have not experienced that - on my Mac or my iPhone - though I mostly use Firefox on my Mac. Safari is getting increasingly weird about deleting cookies before their requested expiration (in the name of "security"). They could be tracking whether you consistently say OK and just clicking it for you. It wasn't a cookie they were supposed to delete in the first place. (You shouldn't be seeing that dialog in most cases). I'd only worry if it was getting auto set for a user who was new to the site.
  3. The 2016 elections were about the Supreme Court as much as it was about the president. This court is what people who voted for Trump were voting for. (And McConnell's stonewalling on the Merrick Garland vote contributed greatly as well). We're a country "founded" by Puritans. (I use "founded" in quotes since it's not like the US wasn't inhabited at the time). I don't see the Comstock Act going away any time soon. But I do see pieces of it being chipped away as pro-choice women stand up and vocally fight for their rights. Thing is, these laws are patently unconstitutional (at least previous courts would have said so). But it's going to take time to get the cases through the courts. And the bits that make us wait for a parent to sue are a problem (hence my previous post).
  4. As of January 1 North Carolina will be blocked as well… https://www.xbiz.com/news/277079/democratic-nc-governor-signs-copycat-age-verification-bill-into-law
  5. If any of you are in Louisiana (or possibly Utah) and have kids and want to fight this… The laws are structured in a way that lets parents sue porn sites. A judge in Louisiana just threw out the part of the Free Speech Coalition’s lawsuit that challenged that part of the law. I’m guessing (don’t know exactly) that they’d like a “friendly” parent who’d be willing to sue a porn site (not this site). If you or anyone you know would be interested in being the friendly lawsuit - contact the Free Speech Coalition (https://www.freespeechcoalition.com) & offer. The value of a friendly lawsuit is lower costs and the lawsuit can be structured in a way to maximize the chances of the porn site winning. Winning those lawsuits is probably what it’s going to take to change this situation.
  6. Given that Northern VA is a major Internet connection point, that doesn’t surprise me. Which reminds me - I should exempt googlebot & bingbot from these blocks. (That’s not a hint to change your user agent string since I’ll think you’re a bot and restrict your access).
  7. Casually mentioning or discussing whether a porn star escorts is OK, but "can I hire him?", or suggesting someone hire someone, or links to escort profiles would be going over the line into encouraging illegal behavior. (e.g. my porn star profiles on bbbh.com will not have links to profiles on Rent Men).
  8. In this week's news North Carolina is now considering a similar law… https://www.xbiz.com/news/276941/north-carolina-group-backing-age-verification-bill-admits-law-is-actually-anti-pornography
  9. The BZ server is now outside of Detroit - so Detroit / Chicago / Toronto VPN location should be best.
  10. And Texas is blocked again… The 5th Circuit (the worst in the nation) just lifted the preliminary injunction.
  11. BTW… I've added a section telling you where I think you're located to the page that's shown when I think you're coming from a restricted state. https://maleprime.com/about/restricted-state
  12. I've reverted to the older version of the theme. That may cause other problems, so 🤞
  13. There was a software upgrade today. I've noticed the changes too and am hoping it's just a CSS caching issue. If it persists tomorrow I'll look into it further.
  14. There are bigger questions… At some point I'll change out that whole thing with the account list for Nostr. I'm increasingly antagonistic towards X (twitter.com). But I need to make progress on s3x.social and that got disrupted by my stroke. I should be getting back to that in the coming weeks. X = a corporate overlord controls things Nostr = the absence of corporate overlords In the meantime linking to a suspended account just highlights why I'll eventually ditch X.
  15. TX is now unblocked. You can read more about the judge’s ruling here: https://www.freespeechcoalition.com/blog/fsc-secures-preliminary-injunction-against-unconstitutional-texas-law Based on the ruling it may be possible to lift the blocks for other states as well. When I find out for sure I’ll unblock them if possible. I strongly suggest you join and/or donate to Free Speech Coalition (the URL above). They are the primary organization fighting these laws and they’re doing an incredible job considering their budget is 1/10th the budget of some of the adversaries. UPDATE: The other blocks will remain. The ruling only covers Texas and while I would be likely to win if anyone sued me, I have no interest in the expense, distraction and publicity of a lawsuit.
  16. I’ll unblock Texas soon… A judge has put the law on hold. https://www.xbiz.com/news/276449/judges-blocks-texas-government-from-enforcing-controversial-age-verification-law
  17. Texas has been blocked! BTW, the state is so bad even Republicans don't like it… https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2023/08/gay-former-trump-official-shocked-by-republican-partys-latest-anti-lgbtq-move/
  18. The other sites (including chat) have been migrated. Only email services remain to be migrated.
  19. The problems were related to the fact that the firewall on the old server blocked access by the new server. That seemed to be the source of the issues since it was sending emails through the mail software on the old server.
  20. AFAIK, the only way in which the severs are talking to each other right now is for the sending of email notifications. The configured SMTP server points to the old server. But that DNS setting hasn't changed and the config settings have an appropriate user name & password. Which reminds me - have any of you gotten email notifcations since the migration? Or not gotten ones you were expecting?
  21. Are you sure it was a 504, not 503? Restart your browser and If it happens again, let me know.
  22. The migration is done. Post any NEW problems here. Chat is still on the old server. So I'm expecting problems with that. It won't be able to confirm your session cookie, so chat may be broken until Monday when the rest of my sites move to the new server.
  23. It looks like the server migration will happen today after all (any moment now). You'll get a Error 503 message during the migration to make sure no one posts anything that doesn't get migrated.
  24. Just a reminder - Texas will go back to being blocked within a week.
  25. Breeding Zone is moving from a server in Miami to a much faster, more energy efficient server outside of Detroit. The migration will start sometime between 2-3 Eastern. I'll probably put up a error/warning page so you don't post/upload during the migration. AFTER the migration is over post any new problems that may be caused by the migration to this thread. Do not post long-standing issues, or post problems before the migration.
