Honesty is the best policy. You have to remember that you are leading by example. That doesn't mean that your house rules for him allow him to engage in the same sort of behavior until he is of a certain age. Remember that you too had to abstain from certain behaviors for certain periods of time. Make certain he knows the consequences of behaviors and that part of the reason for his abstention is until he is able to understand and accept those consequences.
