I think age 18 is a good age. Adolescence in this country was basically "invented" for various reasons, and I think it's proven useful in many instances. The mature pre-teens and adolescents are the minority, and making them wait is a small sacrifice for their not so ready peers, who could be prey for predatory and emotionally immature adults and as a result could be irreparably damaged by the inherent power imbalance of adult and underage sexual relationships. Maybe it's the exception and not the rule, but let's keep the incentive to respect the current law.
