Guest thehammerman Posted June 7, 2014 Report Posted June 7, 2014 G’day – I’ve a question I’d like to ask, and I think (hope that?) it is suitable for posting in this ‘General Discussion’ section of the Forum. Before asking it, I’ll state at the outset that I’m a straight bloke, and that I appreciate this is “a forum by gay men for gay men” (as described in the ‘Read this before you post’ thread). I’m glad you welcome heterosexual and bisexual barebackers – and that space is provided for this grouping of people in a dedicated straight/bi section. I’m in no way suggesting that this should be changed (not at all …). Rather, my interest was piqued when I read – about posting – that there are, clearly, certain topics discussed that some members might deem offensive, disgusting or threatening and that the No. 1 rule for this site is that: “If it's about women or heterosexual sex, post in the Hetero/Bi section of the site (posting hetero topics anywhere else will result in a temporary ban from the site - there are no warnings)”. I agree that, as a site by gay men for gay men, this rule makes sense. Yet the point is shortly thereafter reiterated – that “most of the members don't really want to see … pictures of a naked woman.” My question is: do gay men, on the whole, find pictures of naked women offensive, disgusting or threatening? As for myself, as a straight bloke, I’m in no way offended, etc., by pictures of naked men. Indeed, I enjoy seeing anyone – gay men included – getting sexually excited … Personally, I don’t go out of my way to view any sort of gay porn, but I’m certainly not disgusted or threaten by it. I’m aware that some straight people are disgusted by gay imagery. So, I’m guessing that some gay blokes are likewise disgusted by straight (naked female) imagery. I am simply interested to know if this is the case; and, if so, to what extent. Clearly this is something that can't be asked in the straight/bi section, so I'm hoping it's okay to ask it here.
barebearnyc Posted June 7, 2014 Report Posted June 7, 2014 I've watched lots of straight porn. I've also seen naked women and not been "threatened, disgusted or offended." However, I've been in lots of blended kink communities, and am frequently alienated when I run into straight content there. Particularly when the communities don't make much effort to delineate the content (Fetlife, for example). So, I appreciate the rules here as, when I'm in the middle of a wank, I'm not sifting through content that doesn't turn me on, and might even turn me off.
Cumfilledbottomboi Posted June 8, 2014 Report Posted June 8, 2014 I'm not offended but as much as I like women as friends, I've no desire to see their pussy. It doesn't repulse me but never could've tried to fuck one as I only have ever need gotten truly horny thinking about, visualizing and seeing the male body.
seaguy Posted June 8, 2014 Report Posted June 8, 2014 I'm not offended but as much as I like women as friends, I've no desire to see their pussy. It doesn't repulse me but never could've tried to fuck one as I only have ever need gotten truly horny thinking about, visualizing and seeing the male body. my thoughts exactly. and when i am looking for porn so this does not really apply to this site but on other sites i get annoyed when there is straight or bi porn mixed in with the gay.
Toxxic Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Was thinking about this as while I identify as 100% gay, I've never had sex with a woman & don't intend to, I really get off on straight porn particularly at the nastier end of the market. Wonder if that makes me extra peverted? :-) 1 1
Daddysapig Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 I'm gay, but under certain situations, I also enjoy women. So, im not offended.
Administrators rawTOP Posted July 16, 2014 Administrators Report Posted July 16, 2014 For me it's more of an ick factor and a turn off. "Disgusted" is too strong of a term. I don't have anything against it other than I don't personally like it. The funny part is I sorta enjoy reading threads like the "Last hetero load" - my imagination is able to concentrate on the parts I think are hot without the distractions of things I think are icky.
eightndeep Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 When I see images of women in a gay porn setting, I am TURNED OFF. Nothing bothers me at all about nude females, except in the context of my wanting to get hot and horny. It is the anti-horny. BONER KILLER Personally, I think the question posed by thehammerman is more than a little 'phobic in labeling the desire not to see naked women in a porn context so judgmentally - "offended, disgusted, threatened". No, just not into it. At All.
cam1972 Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 I don't think the question is "phobic" at all. I know some gay men who are offended by straight porn. And most definitely disgusted. As far as I'm concerned.. I love straight porn. Love seeing a woman take a man's cock. Do I think I could suck the cock better than the woman in the porno? Hell yeah. lol But it definitely turns me on.
bearbandit Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 I have little reaction to pictures of naked women, or, for that matter film clips. They just don't interest me, and I'm quite capable of clicking onto the next image/movie if I don't like what I see. I really don't see what the fuss about straight sex here is: although it's predominantly a gay site, rawTOP has made space for straight/bisexual men and women. So what? I don't have to go look if I don't want to. This is a predominantly gay space: all I'd ask of straight/bisexual users is that they don't start with anti-gay abuse (which to my knowledge they haven't) so what's the problem?
RawLeather Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Naked women or men are welcomed by me. A woman just does not have the effect that men have on me. At the end of the day we are all human and have a sexual nature to us. Whether gay straight or bi
DarkroomTaker Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 I am not offended and if no guys are available then if its on offer so be it. btw, I love watching Aurora Snow porn, now she gets me hard!
btm2bbred Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 I enjoy women as persons, but have no sexual interest in them. Straight porn or nude pictures of women do not bother or offend me. It's just that they have no effect on me. BZ is a gay website, but RawTop has worked out a good solution by having a straight and bi forum on BZ for those that want it. Just for my own general knowledge/curiosit, I have occasionally browsed thru the straight posts. "Chacun a son gout" i.e. " each to his (or her) own taste" is fine with me.
PissPigBrooklyn Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 Disgusted? Hardly. Disinterested? Somewhat although occasionally a woman in sexual heat really turns me on and lesbians can make me really horny. But I think the reason is that while the site welcomes heterosexual members and postings, it wishes to make certain that it is not overrun by them and remains a site by gay men for gay men.
bb1991 Posted July 19, 2014 Report Posted July 19, 2014 I know very few gay men who would be repulsed - we've all seen it before. In fact I sometimes watch straight porn - I find the majority of gay porn can be boring, sterile, unimaginative and filled with uninteresting twinks, where straight porn tends to have a bit more spark, passion and if nothing else is pretty much always bareback. As a side note: I have noticed under the "new posts" section the majority of posts seem to actually be under the straight/bi sections of this website (which is great). It seems to me straight men are more likely going to be repulsed by the graphic gay sex images in the website logo and in the porno ads on this website than gay men would be to the odd image of a naked woman.... Perhaps a choice on the front page to select which you would like to see would be most appropriate? - similar to how xtube do it? Loosing the "gay" onus and being more inclusively barebacking regardless of sexual preference, might entice lots of new members.
