Doublelist seems to try to have pay wall. However after sometimes asking to pay where I not pay will let you see the personals. I guess is just to see if can try to get payment. Truth is while free mostly that if was to pay and not get any would seem a waste of money. However I noticed some listings are just a ad to sign up for another website or app.

I find using different methods such as website Doublelist, next apps grindr, A4A may provide a meeting. However can seem sometimes use multiple means and not get any meeting.

I recently have a rare time could host. I thought maybe one interested but seemed not want to travel, while telling me no action at bookstore. I would guess as not want to travel maybe not get any action.

Craigslist at one point was good to meet from personals. I got repeat hookups with one. I got to meet a couple of others. Then later dropped personals as recall a possible law passed to compile. Or maybe another reason.

I noticed some try to use on Craigslist missed person category as personals but find not really work.

Doublelist is hit or miss like all apps and sites. I've had ok results from Doublelist, fair results with Grindr, and good results with Sniffies.

Grindr remains my mainstay app but I have found very little action locally in the last 6 months. I have a few theories why but really aren’t sure. I may becoming unattractive, perhaps beards are no  longer sexy. The local pool is saturated, guys who see me online have seen me before and skip past, maybe I need to change profile somehow. Users have applied more filters. 
On the other hand I get plenty of sex on Grindr when I travel. So I tend to think all the local guys have already fucked me if they want to. I must go somewhere to be fresh meat.

I also use BBRTS which I like but it is very dependent on location. Lots of users in my city but very few in other cities in my country. Overseas seems to be the same, there are BBRTS hotspots surrounded by deserts.

In Asia I do ok on Grindr usually but also use Hornet which is strong in some Asian countries. There are other Asian apps that are strong locally but generally they confuse me with their idiosyncratic layouts and features. Even Hornet is confusing when many features I don’t understand but I do ok getting sex on it so I understand enough.

I've never done BarebackRT, I'll have to take a look.  Sniffles was a bunch of games.  Scruff is OK if I'm out of town but the people near me are pretty well picked over.  Either they've rejected me or vice versa.  And Grindr, which used to be OK, is now largely pros or people looking to parTy.

I miss having a bookstore or movie theater nearby.  Not that I was always successful there but my batting average was much better.
