Am I seroconverting?? Worried

Hiya all. I’m genuinely scared right now.

Had unprotected sex with a guy from Grindr on 9/9/19 (I had previously tested neg in April and had no sex months before that, or since then until September). He said he was meh beforehand and still maintains this to this day 

Started on 24th Sept getting mouth ulcers (canker sores) which isn’t really unusual as I’ve always got them, and also got a headache come on which doesn’t seem to go. I feel a teeny bit weak, but honestly nothing that stops me from doing anything.

Could this be it? I’m genuinely worried. This scare will definitely get me to play safe moving forward.

You can get tested but I highly doubt it

It could be that fast if he had a very high VL but I’d say 95% is about 30 days. I think  Health Depts say 90 days to be sure

There are two types of tests – RNA tests (basically viral load tests) that can tell if you're poz quite quickly after infection, and antibody tests which take 4-6 weeks to be accurate (because the antibodies have to build up in your body).

So after 4 weeks even then antibody test will probably be accurate.

The latest research shows that seroconversion takes place around day 25, much earlier than previously thought.

The latest 4th generation test will look for the antigen and the antibody. The antigen shows pretty quick but goes away at some point. The antibody does not.

Finger prick test was negative but they say that was up to six weeks ago. I had sex four weeks ago yesterday.

Theyve taken some bloods from me and I get the results tonight. These go back four weeks so this should be the one.

And honestly I won’t be going on prep as I won’t be doing this ever again. I’ve too much to lose in my life by even just having gay sex.

You’re probably not poz but a good idea to have been tested. You say you won’t ever do it again but be true to yourself. I made those same promised to myself after AIDS scares and within a week Or two I was getting barebacked again by buds and not long after taking anon loads at the gym in the showers. It was only after learning a regular fuckbud was HIV+ and not on meds that I went on Prep. It was only after going on it I learned that four other regular fuck buds were also poz and not on meds so I truly dodged a bullet.

I get that but I have a wife and baby daughter so I can’t have this risk ever again.

although as my results came back as NEGATIVE, when I got home and put some porn on when the wife was out I truly wanted a poz guy to breed me! I don’t know why after this scare I wanted that!
