Motel / Hotel question

I had a weird situation yesterday, I had gotten a room at a Motel 6 hoping I could try taking some loads in the evening. I know Motel 6 is a chain many guys have used for this purpose, but when I checked in (after having booked the room the night before), the woman asked if I planned on having any guests. She said that if I did ever one needed to check in at the front desk and provide ID, otherwise if the security guard caught people going into my room they would essentially evict me from my night there. I'm serious, it was kind of hard core. I ended up taking one load from a guy but it was too disconcerting for me so I quit.

Has anyone else ever run into this?

I have and it really depends on the motel/hotel chain and the neighborhood.  I was taking loads at a Motel 6 here in DC and the security guard came knocking on the door about 2 minutes after the first guy showed up.  My preference is Red Roof because they don’t have to go through the lobby- just open the door, unzip and breed away.

I usually try and find the motels where you park in front of your room, just so it's easier for a quick in and out. That's where I've had best luck. No hallways or lobby's for your johns to deal with.

Yeah, that's why I liked this motel 6, door outside, no lobby, my car parked nearby. But the woman was kind of adamant that this policy was something they enforced. I think it might have to do with the slighly sketchy part of Salt Lake City it was in and they may have had problems with drug dealers or something.

Ah, shit. I hate places like that. I usually start at the bottom of the list and work up, the seedier the better, as long as I won't get shot or robbed. Best places I've been too are little chains here and there that have some high school kid baked off his ass running the desk overnight. Better luck next time! Could be a whole covid thing too, I know that's fucked up everyone's hookup game

If I'm ever in your area take me to one of hour favorite seedy places and we'll take loads together.

I think most people here have hit on the key elements, save one. It's true a lot of places are being more restrictive with Covid; in some areas, drug dealing and prostitution are a major concern with some lower-cost motels and local governments are really hounding them (understandably) to keep the crime down.

Motel 6 has long had a reputation as being a cheap, no-frills and not-particularly-quality place to stay, but about ten years ago or so, they started a major campaign to upgrade every property to a higher standard and to market to a somewhat different clientele - especially families traveling for vacations. They chose a consistent, clean design for the rooms, with built-in furniture, wired networking jacks at desktop height, etc.  Not every property is yet upgraded (and COVID undoubtedly has slowed that down further) but they're nonetheless trying to get away from the sketchy, people-in-and-out model that works well for the kind of activity described here.

I'm not critiquing that behavior in and of itself. But understand that like public sex in parks and bathrooms, it violates the norms other people expect, and so there's going to be pushback at times. What is overlooked at a no-national-brand name motel on the outskirts of town or in a more industrial/commercial zone is unlikely to get the same lack of interest in a motel marketing to family groups. Motel 6 is positioning itself squarely in that latter category, so while it's blessedly inexpensive, it's also restrictive on what's allowed on site.

Yes, this one was upgraded. Everything was newer and higher quality than I remember seeing at other ones in the past.

Then it's double-likely they're strict on that kind of thing. I suspect they really wouldn't care about you having ten guys through there to fuck you. But most people who are having ten random visitors (and not as a single group, but one-by-one or so) are either dealing drugs or escorting, neither of which they're interested in allowing.

(Side note: one aspect of their upgrade is the removal of those nasty thin comforter type bedspreads, which are seldom washed and usually full of germs and miscellaneous bodily fluids, replaced with nice blankets that can be laundered with the rest of the bedding. A second upgrade aspect is replacing the room carpeting with laminate floors - again, removing something that is frequently stained and full of <whatever> in favor of something that can be steam-mopped for cleanliness.)

Your profile says you travel extensively. Let me know if you’re in the DC area. I’d be glad to stop in and shoot a load in your mancunt.

I think you being in Utah has something to do with that. I visited Utah for work last year and everyone I encountered was pious. I was at the Delta Sky Club waiting on my flight and I went to get a second drink at the bar. The guy looked at me and said “another? We don’t encourage drinking here”.  He was a bartender! People there know what other people are doing and that may be why you encountered that. I have never had that problem in any other city I have visited.
