Guest Footprints Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 It seems that xtube will be closed at September. Anyone know why it has to be closed?

There is a lengthy discussion in the pinned posts in the Porn forum about the situation amateur porn sites are facing. You can find it at Although that discussion is about why thousands of videos were being deleted, it points out that the sites themselves are unlikely to survive.
chipygmalion80 Posted July 8, 2021 Report Posted July 8, 2021 Here's the pop-up message I got when logging into Xtube: "It's a sad day for us at XTube but we have to announce that after 13 years, XTube.com will be shutting down on September 5th." The message recommends going to Pornhub. Hah! I find XHamster far better though the content is mostly just rip-offs. I've been a customer of various online and brick & mortar shops. If fanatics try to shutdown porn, it just pops up elsewhere. Jp 1
Hungjohnbb Posted July 8, 2021 Report Posted July 8, 2021 It’s been going downhill for a while. Loads of my fav videos went in the mass delete and they kept pushing paid content. 1 1
verbalBTTM Posted July 8, 2021 Report Posted July 8, 2021 Xtube has been dying for years now & honestly good riddance. Fortunately there's newtumblr which is free and has more amateur stuff
bbsam Posted July 8, 2021 Report Posted July 8, 2021 Used to be great when it first started and was actually a social community. Then it turned into just another generic porn tube site and has been going downhill ever since. 1
LetsPOZBreed Posted July 8, 2021 Report Posted July 8, 2021 Not shocked at all by this. It was getting too commercial, even before the "big purge". When I first signed up for it over 10 years ago, it was pretty much all amateur/homemade stuff. I just didn't see it sticking around after it took down almost all the videos...that's really the only thing people were going there for. I can only assume the paid content creators have moved over to OF/JFF by now. 1
verslut Posted July 8, 2021 Report Posted July 8, 2021 I'm guessing triage on MindGeek's part. Porn streaming sites are a nightmare to maintain. And I have a feeling the Pornhub network's backend systems aren't well integrated. MindGeek have to shut down sites that don't make enough money or don't fit into its business strategy.

I would have preferred being charged by minute instead of "renting" or "buying" a video that after paying you wouldn't like.
Nik101 Posted September 12, 2021 Report Posted September 12, 2021 Damn it, I didn’t see this thread before it closed. Guess the vids I post on there are now lost to the world

Guess the vids I post on there are now lost to the world If it’s any consolation, they’re probably not forever lost. They probably exist in personal download collections. You may have to reupload them somewhere else to make them publicly available (and yourself an internet exhibitionist) again, but they probably still exist out there somewhere in the vast, trackless cybersphere. You can never count on anything posted to the Internet to be truly erased. Some years ago I actually had established credentials as a performer with XTube so that I could post video of myself and monetize it. I did a few, but quickly discovered that you couldn’t do it casually and make any money at it - you basically had to make a business of it, and aside from the fact that I already had a very fulltime job, I was nowhere near pretty enough for that. It’s as close as I ever got to bring a professional pornstar, lol - that’s now lost to the world (the world may breathe a sigh of relief) but it has more to do with time overtaking my body than XTube disappearing.
BlackDude Posted September 12, 2021 Report Posted September 12, 2021 I always thought it was dumb content creators could block comments of videos you paid for. They had this guy on there who would show one thing in the thumbnail and description and it would be totally different stuff in the video if you bought it. If you called it out in the comments, he’d block you.
