I've been barebacking for more than 15 years and I estimate having taken around 2,000 loads, most of them anonymous, and I'm still testing HIV-. Probably lucky because I can't imagine being immune to HIV. I love anonymous sex, basically the only kind of sex I like having. I know the risks of anon sex and I don't want to seroconvert. I am seriously thinking of going back to condoms all the time. And last summer I picked up a case of bactierial and parasitic diarrhea just from sucking cock that probably had some shit on it. I'd rather hookup with somebody that is medicated and undetectable than a guy who's profile says "Neg as of March 15th, 2014." That statement tells me nothing. Plus, he could have picked the little bugger a few days before: not enough time for the body to form sufficient antibodies for a test to pick up... I think the saddest cases involving HIV are the cases wherein a partner is unknowingly infected by a partner that cheated.A related note: the fiction section here is a place many of us use to confront our fears and attempt to take control over a situation that is effectively out of our control. I don't think that's a gloomy view as your brighter note suggests.
