I stopped going last summer. I got tired of being relentlessly followed around and stalked by creepy guys I'm not attracted to.

And then they do that thing where they force you to squeeze by them in the tight hallway so they can grab at you. Sadly a friendly not interested and hand push-away is no longer respected.

I went recently on an early Saturday evening.  I was surprised how busy it was.  Lots of action.  Great time.

I know drug use is a touchy subject with regards to personal responsibility and liability,  but please remember that a few years back an Asian guy OD’d and died in the small bathroom next to the main floor showers at ESC.

Damn! Not surprised that such things happen, but I am surprised that I had not heard about it before.

The video reminded me more of the WSC than the ESC.

Exactly what i was thinking. Same dimmer, same white glove light fixture in the same location and the same gray walls as the WSC. And the downstairs cabins didn't get nearly the traffic that the upstairs rooms got.

It would be good news to hear Poztop9 is at the ESC.  The bathhouse video mentioned, progresses from the room to a liquor stocked bar. The ESC barely has a working candy machine. I was there 8 hours from midnight until 8 am sat/sun ass up with the door open. I got fucked once. Most of the room doors are closed, the place was packed, and there was almost no action anywhere. The upstairs floor, where I’ve heard the most pnp happened, is roped off and not available.   Remember when they started roping off the downstairs at the WSC?  It was months before they shut down forever.  No one who runs the ESC wants you to enjoy your stay, they want to take your money and see you leave in disgust.  I see torn up temporary membership cards on the floor by the exit every time I go.  It’s very hard to convince any New Yorker to meet you there.

But i remember the ESC back when the WSC first opened. All the Chelsea boys left the place like lemmings and what was left were the men who wanted to fuck, party and have fun. Probably where i picked up the gift.

ESC renovations are completed?

Yes, downstairs bathroom is open again. Surface textures have changed, the layout is the same. They resurfaced the top floor and put in lights that don’t dim.  Still no douche nozzles anywhere, someone should be paid to go to Steamworks and see what kind of facility works for men who have left the closet.

I visited the East Side Club last weekend. Sunday afternoon-- the downstairs was open -new showers and bathroom - but same space- tight!   the rest of the halls, rooms were basically the same.  Elevators were working. It was an okay crowd -mostly lots of men laying about.  I did get fucked twice but that was it - it kinda felt i missed a peak afternoon period and it was about 5-7 when i was there so seemed sort of sleepy.   It was nice to go back but i guess i'll do another visit in 2025. No reason to make a special trip for it.  We (New Yorkers) should be just happy its still open.

How’s the partying at ESC?

Officially if the club becomes aware of anyone smoking, they can be banned from ever returning to the club

Doesn't stop anyone. Everytime I go, I am offered to party with guys there.

I’ve seen guys get skitterish about mentioning it conversation. In a private room in low tones OK, but in the shower room, hush hush. Banning from the premises is a big deal for me, they are the only club left in NY. If I post my room number on sniffies and am waiting there ass up, with the room door open, the quiet smokeless burn from a shard in the rectum is always welcome, and won’t risk my membership. And it will make me more eager to feel you soak my insides with your spunk, and with the spunk of any man you bring into my room after that.

Well here is just a bit regarding partying at the ESC. I may have posted about this before but I will say it again.  If you do GHB - be careful.

I had a friend who "fell out" on GHB and had one of the worst experiences of his life.  The management called 911 and he was taken to an emergency room. He lived in Philadelphia so it's not like he could just take the subway home once released from the ER.

The East Side Club kept most of his belongings.  I don't know how they justified this with the EMT's, I was not there.   What I was there for is to apologize to the staff and to retrieve my friend's belongings.  Granted he somehow had clothes with him, but he did not have his wallet, which of course meant no money to get home, or his keys.

He is now on a  permanently banned list for the rest of his life.  I didn't mind the employees telling me what a hassle it was for them to get him medical attention, how it disrupted everything at that club and upset other patrons who thought their rooms or lockers might be searched.   They work there and it was an added headache.  It seemed the EMT's were only interested in getting him medical attention, it was not really something that law enforcement was concerned about.

But the East Side Club has a zero tolerance for that kind of behavior and if you want to risk smoking or other means of doing enhancements make sure your understand the consequences.  My friend was fortunate, that club could have thrown away everything of his but they probably thought there needed to be a policy about personal possessions and thought twice before they tossed his keys in the trash.  My friend was lucky in the end, they gave me back his belongings but he can never return there again.

It is just not worth the risk....
