Rainbow Cabaret was closed for renovations but I took 5 loads at the hotel.

A search of the Hillsborough County Property Assessor's website shows that the place was sold on March 28 for a cool $1.5 million.

Oh man, spent more than one day roaming it’s sleazy narrow halls. The main theatre room where I would position myself backward on the last row of chairs with my hole facing the screen and my head hanging owner the back of the chair. Wow, so the Rainbow is closed permanently?  I can see heads exploding as the news makes it's way through the PNP/bathhouse crowds.  If the walls could only talk about what went on in that establishment.  So, does anyone know what the available (if any) options there will be in the Tampa area?

That place went through so much, from being considered a shelter from hurricanes (that didn't end well), to having people "escorted" off the property by law enforcement for downloading all the porn off the property's server.

Where, oh where, will people go????

I'm imagining that the space will be redeveloped with retail or residential. At $1.5M, that's not much for just changing ownership and based on reputation, it needed a lot of work. Sounds like a tear-down.

There's still Tampa Men's Club, which is actually a really nice space, but only ever about 10-12 people there (despite the dozens of cars parked in the parking lot at all times)

Thanks for that, I've never been.   I knew of one that burnt down under mysterious circumstances but that was a few years back.  I'll check out Tampa Men's Club now, I would think all of the "refugees" from Rainbow would be headed in that direction.  I mean, there has to be somewhere for them to go, unless they all decide to stay home which I honestly doubt.  Thanks again!

What are the chances that the same location would burn three times?  No one ever held accountable.  I heard the place was nice, it burned before I ever had a chance to go.

It's a shame in my opinion, I can't imagine that law enforcement didn't pursue an investigation into the matter.  If they did, I never heard if anyone was arrested.  I doubt the insured was paid on the claims.    Curious if this was someone who did not want that kind of establishment in their location, or the owner trying to get an early payout.

Ok - I want the back story here … a gay bath house was a shelter during a hurricane???

and people downloading porn? And getting caught… and arrested? (How many of the police officers were hit on buy guys who just thought they were there to act out weird fetishes  “oh officer, I’ve been a bad boy - can you handcuff me too?”   Or “can I play with your nightstick officer?”)
