So i have recently been confirmed positive for anal warts. Im bummed but i accept it. Its a risk i took when i decided to go bareback only. Now is a matter of what to do next. Hpv has no cure.

Don’t despair. I got anal warts when I was about 22 years old. I had an operation and a surgeon removed them. It was a very painful recovery, and they came back, but I saw a doctor that treated them and within about a year they stopped coming back. Yes, I still have the virus in me, but I don’t have any visible warts. It’s important you work with your doctor. I am now 67 years old and I have not had another wart appear since they were removed in my 20’s. Get treated. You can still have a good sex life.

1. treatment starts with a Creme like Aldara.

2. if you still have warts after months of treatment surgery is the best decision

3. there exists a vac (three times: start than after 1 and than after 6-12 months). This doesn‘t protect you from the strain you already have. But: There are different high risc (can cause cancer) and low risc strains, a test can tell you which one you have. And after vac number 3 you are protected.

4…You need patience and try to boost your immune system (food, sleeping, sports…. it can be fucking- hope you have no pain).

5. you can have warts in/around your hole AND/OR in your urethra. Your Doc should check everywhere.

6. it might become a long journey but you will make it, babe! Fingers crossed 🤞

Your doctor will decide if Aldara or surgery is your best first option. Many times it depends on the size of the wart and the location. Most people don't have a recurrence in the same spot once treated but some do. They are contagious, so you should get treated. Some are painful, some are not. Some cause pain just because of their size, and some can bleed. I'd definitely recommend treatment. Aldara is the brand name medication for Imiquimod. It should be available as a generic now, but it used to be brand name only and was pretty expensive without insurance, but should cost about $25 for treatment as a generic.

Years ago, Warts and HPV was just normal side of having sex.  There were no vaccines etc.  I got a wart when I was in my 20's. Dr. treated it with cream and it went away.  Its in my system but I have never had another outbreak ever.  Just like Bitbucket, after treatment it didn't stop me from having sex.

HPV can also cause anal cancer, although I think it's a different strain of the virus than the ones that cause warts. I haven't been diagnosed with HPV, but I and my doctors assume that I have it since I had anal cancer. No warts though. If you ever have bright red blood come out when you poo, get checked out.

if they are external then aldara cream gets rid of them very quickly, you only use a TINY bit but be warned, teh side effects are horrific! but it realy does work. really. sure the virus stays in your system forever but the warts themselves go away. but the side effects, sheesh, the way it works is similar to that weed killer that accelerated the growth of the weed to end its life early, so the warts flare up insanely, and painfully, and red and sore and ouch for a while but then they vanish and you will be glad you used aldara cream

 

 

if they are quite big growths and look like cauliflower or something gross off google, you can get them frozen off by a doctor very easily, im told sometimes you get get this done at  a walkin clinic within minutes ,but ive never experienced that for myself so i am only going off what others have said

 

and aye, anal warts can cause cancer indeed, but there is a vaccine against most strains of hpv now, the dangerous strains anyway, so do look up getting vaccinated if you can.

 

 

internal warts tend to not be noticed unless you are into prolapse fisting or something, and the top actually sees the lining of your rectum for himself, i wouldnt worry about internal ones, your own immune system will eventually deal with them and they will shrink down to nothing within time.

I have been dealing with this situation since mid-2020 and have been told that my warts are "pre-cancerous" and have been removed through surgery.  Initially I had a fissure and twice they did "botox" injections into that area, but the warts keep coming back.

I am seeing a reputable anal and rectal cancer specialist in my area, despite being told the warts are not cancerous.  However, the situation remains and it has screwed up my sex life incredibly.  It's too late for a vaccine for me.  

It looks like this August I will have my FIFTH out patient procedure since the time period I mentioned earlier and I can tell you not only is it humiliating but the recovery process is just awful.  Sure, they initially give me a minimal amount of pain killers but after that the fear of either spreading it to someone or having another "tear" due to constipation, or fucking, is really unnerving.   Right now I am using a compound written by the doctor but this is only a temporary fix till they do the next procedure.

I would suggest to any guy who has not been vaccinated for HPV to do yourself a favor and talk to your doctor about getting the jab.  I wish I has known because I have overcome a lot physically over the years and thought I was invincible.  Apparently, I was wrong.  I would not wish this situation on anyone, it really is life changing if you are used to being sexually active.

Really sorry to hear the news

i had a nasty case back in my youth- and not having insurance to pay for surgery I had to do out patient- which as it was a nasty case took about 2-1/2 years - every other week to have them burned off- (strangely though I think they saved my life as I got them just at the beginning of AIDS - and by the time I was “all clear” condoms were being used (so I didn’t get AIDs until after the cocktail had been discovered)

So my advice is make sure you have a dr that

a) you know, trust, and can be completely honest with 

b) is experienced and knows what they are talking about and what treatments would be best for you 

c) once you are all clear - ask about how often you should get a Pap smear…. Yes guys should get them too if tge have had warts as they are a great detector of potential cancer 

And don’t beat yourself up over this—- it happens 

hope it is not too bad a case and that you are up and about soon

and yes - for everyone else… if you are lucky enough not to have had anything yet - talk to your dr about what vaccines you might be eligible for (as most drs - unless asked- stop offering them to patients once they are out of their teens

Warts is the nature of the game. Even the vaccine out there only targets certain ones. Thankfully warts usually go away on their own with time if you want to avoid surgery... just most won't fuck you if they see warts around your asshole.

No one I've know who has had them has ever said they've gone away on their own. If anything, they continue to grow if not treated.

They usually take a few months to go away on their own. I had anal warts once and they took about 4 months to be cleared. Also had plantar warts once and they took two years to clear.
