That’s a fair conclusion after reading today’s story from Axios, “GOP donors fret over Scott’s single status.”

Per the story, “Top GOP donors and their allies privately are pushing Sen. Tim Scott’s team for more detail about his bachelor status before deciding how much to support him in the presidential campaign, according to two people familiar with the conversations.”

Of course, Axios doesn’t dare go there and address what “questions” his single status might raise. I have no idea about Scott, but just because he's not married doesn't mean he fucks /gets fucked.  If Scott actually is gay, his mind has been royally fucked by the religious garbage we're all up-to-here with.  Better, if he actually is gay, then he's at least cognizant of the kinds of issues we're facing.  Not that he'd have the balls to resist very hard, but at least he might grasp the situation.

I don't know if I would call "Lady Graham" homophobic, more like homosexual acceptant.  Lindsay Graham has been well known to hire sex workers as well as adult video performers for his pleasure.  Former White House employee Jan Psaki has referred to him as "Lady Graham", however I don't know how well that was received at the White House.  If he is gay, then let's call a "spade a spade"   However I have reached out to at least one individual adult porn star who has stated he has visited "Lady Graham" at his residence, and money was exchanged for sex.  He acknowledged that "Lady Graham" was going. to admit to his misdeeds, but that never happened.  When I contacted that adult performer he never responded.  I understand an individual may not want to be acknowledged as a "sex worker" but I was deeply disappointed that he would not come forward and talk about his experiences with the Senator.

I understand he  don't want to be charged with prostitution, but wish he would have stepped forward and pointed out the OUTRIGHT contradictions in the Republican Party.

I figure that he's (L.G.) waiting until retirement (one way or the other) to do what he can to stem the tide of rampant homophobia that seems to be overtaking his political party.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if some of the worst of the gay-haters in the R party are, in fact, gay as a gaggle of geese.  (how was that for dose of alliteration?) 

Frankly, it's as much tragic as anything else, that a gay man hitched his financial / career wagon to such an odious entity as the R party.  Just ask the diddler-of-the-wrestling-team a couple of states north of S.C.  That one's emotional health has been completely corrupted, stunted, shut-down.  

Point:  When some measure of personal freedom is denied, there's always a price to be paid - individually, as a member of some group, or some other construct. 

Living a lie always corrupts the soul.

I wouldn't count on that. I've known inordinate numbers of closeted gay Republicans who fervently drank the Kool-Aid, and even when it became possible for them to "do something" for the gay community, they didn't. They're perfectly willing to take advantage of the advances we've made (like ending the criminalization of gay sex) but they're completely uninterested in helping with the battles still to be won. Most were never friends of mine (more like casual acquaintances that had to be tolerated).

But one was a very good friend, and he has a lovely house perfectly suited for entertaining (spacious, good flow, stunning furniture and art, all the equipment needed for hosting a nice group of people.

After the sodomy law ruling, when gay marriage was becoming the next hot button issue, I asked if he would be willing to host a small, quiet, invitation-only fundraiser - not just for rich gays, but also for wealthy socially progressive straight people in this city. He looked horrified - even though, as I pointed out, most of the prospective guest list were straight themselves. But he was convinced that doing anything even tangentially associated with "queer people" would forever tarnish his local reputation.

To be fair, several decades earlier, there had been a sweep of a cruising area at a local park, back when all the arrestees' names were printed in the paper. In that sweep, as one friend put it, you couldn't tell if you were reading the crime reports page or the Society section, given the number of prominent men who were picked up (several marriages imploded in the process). But that was a raid on a cruising park, with sex happening in public in the bushes, not a private party where the press wouldn't be informed and in fact would be banned. Still no dice. To this day (and he's around 85 now) I don't think he's ever donated a dime to an LGBT event or cause. Sad.

No, only the one known as "Lady Graham" who is known, and has been photographed with both porn and sex workers.  I am sick and tired of people saying "oh no he doesn't", because in fact , he does.  If BZ member want to believe that Lindsay Graham doesn't hire men for sex, go right ahead.

I, FOR A FACT, know he does.  I am just waiting for the Secret Service or members of the US Department of Justice knock on my door.  Glad my  I Phone still can produce reasonable facsimiles of "Lady Graham".  Enough said....

Did you know that Harold Washington - the first African American Mayor of Chicago was gay?  His other half (absolutely beautiful, but I can't remember his name) was one of the earliest we lost to hiv.  He was very quietly spirited out of town, back East to wherever he was from - to await his passing.  

But, it was Mayor Jayne Byrne that put an end to the cops raiding the bars.  She was a total lush, and she was a lot of fun too.  It seems there was a direct ratio between financial success and nailing the closet door shut; the more they had to lose, the more the hid who they really are.  

It's nice to be "comfortable", but even better to be honest.
