I'm not shocked by anything Trump does any more.

But it's quite possible to evaluate someone who's been in the public eye, very loudly and prominently, since the early 1970's, about whom millions of words have been written and who has actually had multiple books about himself ghost-written for wide distribution; moreoever, we're talking about someone who publicly flirted with running for president more than once before actually doing it in 2015 and exploiting the foibles of the Electoral College (and a uniquely unpalatable-to-many opponent) to win the election.

If you don't understand the difference between being able to judge a public figure like Trump, and tea-leaf reading a handful of posts on a website like this and claiming to KNOW what people "REALLY MEAN" - well, I'm not shocked by that either.

Probably. But absent proof of what, specifically, he means, I'm going to take him literally.

Which is more fun, really, because aside from Turkey (which straddles Europe and Asia and thus is really a "Eurasian" country rather than European), there's no nation I know of that is anywhere close to becoming "officially Islamic". Especially considering that a lot of Islamic immigrants to Europe are ESCAPING Islamic states, and while they want to be free to worship in accordance with their religious beliefs, they're not particularly likely to want the kind of merged church-state situation we see in many (but not all) Islamic countries.

So the whole idea of "if a European country becomes officially Islamic" is roughly akin to "if Vatican City exiles the Pope" or "if America renounces capitalism and guns". Ain't gonna happen.

"Majority muslim" and "Islamic" are two different things. The US is majority Christian (for now) but we are not a Christianist nation (yet).

A country that is "Islamic" is one where the government is based on the principles of Islam (as interpreted by a particular group, of course, but that's a separate issue). Bosnia is not such a country.

it's similar to Albania. I think it's only recently that the country hasn't been ruled by the Communist Party. Additionally, the large majority of people are Muslim, but the government is secular, as is the education system. Religion and religious indoctrination is NOT permitted in schools.
