What are you most optimistic about in political developments in 2025?

Didn’t Trump say: If you vote for me, it will be the last time you have to vote.

There will be no midterms anymore.

I just wonder if there is enough TRUE MAGA idiots to be able to negate those Republicans WHO WILL see the tidal wave of deceit, lies & disaster coming fast & who will do everything to prevent the downfall of the USA.

Liz Cheney, for all her Democrat objections, may well become that beacon of righteousness that will give questioning Republicans the incentive to start pushing back.

IF the Berlin Wall & the Iron Curtain can be felled, SO TOO, CAN TRUMP🙏🤬🤬🤬

My two cents, for what it’s worth:

I feel the current global situation has been hijacked for some time now. We are only just now seeing the blatant disrespect for human rights. The similarity between Hitlers rise to power and our owe current administration is quite remarkable.

[think before following links] https://www.annefrank.org/en/anne-frank/go-in-depth/germany-1933-democracy-dictatorship/

Going back to 1961 when Eisenhower gave his farewell address live on television, he thanked warned the nation against the potential influence of the military–industrial complex. We have been slowly forfeiting our power for decades. He also warned of the danger of massive spending. The current  US debt far exceeds the amount of US currency in circulation. I read where it would take about 1 million dollars from each taxpayer to pay off the current debt.

I have seen broadcasts over the years where the supper wealthy have been building underground fortresses for some time. I have to wonder if they had any advanced knowledge of what might be coming?

I also don’t feel this is just a US issue, but a global task to further control everything, meaning there is no place safe to run if that is your intention. The best we can do is support each other and band together as a unified force. Not saying it will be easy, but the alternative is far worse.

A good friend of mine a few years back, asked my opinion about where I saw things going. This was after the global “pandemic “ and escalating inflation. My reply was simple. I told him to watch the movie “1984”, the dystopian novel and cautionary tale by writer George Orwell.

Through history, all advanced civilizations have fallen. Not saying this is the end, but it will definitely be a trying time for many. It will just be a matter of time before the ones who think they are “safe” will realize differently.

I wouldn't say optimistic, but am hopefully that the backlash to Trump will generate some necessary corrections. Hopefully a Constitutional amendment that clarifies the limits on executive powers and add mechanisms for enforcement for the legislative and judicial branches act as a check and balance on the executive branch. I think there will also be a plethora of legislation creating statutes against all of the corruption and fraud Trump is intent on making the it safe to perpetrate.

Sadly the cost of this will be the diminishment of the US role in global leadership that Trump has already accomplished. It will take decades of actions to re-earn that trust.

Actually we only think it will take time to re-earn that trust.  Please don't take that as disagreement.  Just that there are a lot of 'moving parts' to international relations, and I caution against too specific predictions.

It is quite possible that we are 90 days from a significant social rebellion to what Musk/Trump are doing.  In a way, Musk is Trump's Achilles heel.  It will be difficult for Donny to kick Elon to the curb.  But once the dissention brews between them it'll become a Trump/Musk war and that's our opening to, with every legal basis, to imprison both of them.

I am hopeful for several assassinations in 2025

Wellllll .... on the surface of reactions, that might be understandable.  However, there are standards that some observe, and other folks  that observe none.

I'd rather we build more (very) high-rise jails (smaller "footprint") for all these criminals than take more land to waste on cemeteries.  Even hundreds of thousands of urns (for ashes) would be too big a waste of raw materials.  Plastic urns would be plenty good enough, considering (once the ashes have cooled, I suppose).

We don't need to lower our standards merely because these cretins have none,

Personally I think Trump will throw Musk under the bus before it becomes a war between the, and he continuous to damage the US standing in the world. We already know which side the MAGA radicals and the MAGA politicians are going to take in the Musk/Trump war.

He'd throw anyone & everyone under the bus if he had the slightest whim to do it.  The muskrat is on thin ice already - and it would surprise me not one bit if he (T) were already considering ways to toss the muskmess out.

Musk's actions confuse me - i've read he's a consultant without authority to take official action.  But that's what he's been doing - pushing ahead as if he has absolute power.  He seems to be acting as he did when he took over twitter - he fired over 80% of the twitter staff and the place is seeming run by bots now.  Even a message to premium support gets answered by bots and many times its - clear your browser cache.  Twitter is a fucking mess and engagement has been dropping and many are leaving.  WTF!  I hope Trump and Musk have a very public drag out fight real soon!

I fear we're thinking way too small. As frightening as Trump is, Leon scares me more. He had way too much power even before Trump won. He already had  control of most of the country's satellites and space program. With X he controls the largest conservative mouthpiece in the world. He personally  speaks to Putin and is trying to manipulate electkons in other countrkes too. Now he's gained access to massive troves of sensitive information. How much has he scraped? Have he and his minions inserted malicious code into the systems? He can accumulate more power every day. And at this point, if Musk wants something badly enough, who's to stop him?

NO burials, cremation, NO urns & when ashes cooled maybe they can be beneficial as fertiliser. At least they would serve A purpose. They do not deserve the "luxury" of life in any prison.

I am NOT a NAZI but, when it comes to TREASON, I am wholeheartedly in favour of CAPITAL PUNISHMENT.

Strangely my gut tells me that after Trumps election victory, his usefulness will start to Waiver. He is the stooge of the Heritage Foundation to get Project 2025 into the system.

Despite Trumps narcissistic Bull-dozing he has never been gifted the power & the access to so much of the US states financial & government computer systems, privacy & secrets that Musk, an unelected, unauthorised, potential mega hacker, spy & blackmailer, has been allowed even before Trump won the election.

Vance & Musk are the end desire in the nefarious & incredibly distasteful future plans of the Heritage Foundation & their desire for the full implementation of Project 2025 & the eventual subjugation of the American people.

Musk will eventually also be "disposed" of.
