and two days ago they introduced a bill to increase it to three terms. I've seen articles saying this isn't possible to do and that the bill won't pass, but how many times have we heard that only to watch them do the thing anyways without any consequences.

A law isn't sufficient to allow a third term.  It would require a Constitutional amendment and there's no way such an amendment would get enough a 2/3 vote in Congress and a 3/4 vote of the states.  As the Constitution is written, a president doesn't have to "leave" the White House.  His presidency ends at noon EST on January 20, 2029.  It doesn't matter if a successor has been elected and certified.  The term of office is over.  Hopefully, by that time, a Democrat will be the speaker of the House.

Here in the uk when the Thatcher government introduced Section 28 back in the 1980s a direct attack on our community it had an energising effect on every part of the LGBT world which had never been seen before.  Huge protests and all sorts of smaller initiatives got started.  It took some time for the legislation to be rescinded formally but the government had a fight on their hands and they knew it.

I probably have relatives in Ireland.  But after 200 years there really isn't a familial connection.  USA is home to me.

I maintain an awareness what 4547, and am attempting to establish a communication link with my Senators.  But I really don't have much option.  Perhaps there will be a protest in the coming months for me to join in.  And I will if and when that happens.  Otherwise, my focus is in how my state government is going to help dull the worst impulses of the inept guy in the white house.

I may consider moving to Canada, I've never resided there, but have close to 10 years of work history there so I would have a network of friends and professional contacts.

My ancestors migrated to the US or American colonies between 180 and 400 years ago, from all over western Europe, so I don't really have clear roots anywhere except the US.

My heart is with you & I hope that protest & pressure via State authorities & interested parties will be successful.

I am also glad that you are able to find confidence in the States authorities willingness to fight for its residents.

Unfortunately, in Australia, we do not have the same confidence in either Fed or State authorities to have the best interests of their electorates above their own personal (Trumpist) ambitions.

Poverty & loss of "FREEDOM OF", are two factors that will turn, even the most hardened sycophants, away from their DEVILESSIAH 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬👿👿. Just a question of time.

We can hope for that, and indeed I fully expect there will be society push back.  But when?  The DEMS seem to have up and died....

Indeed, I would not attempt to speak for Australian society as it's political system and social structure was developed quite differently.

One of the interesting facets of US government is that there are layers.  The R's have been pushing to have all social decisions made at the state level.  Then the southern states could go back to having black slaves as their economic engine.  But also, there is a good amount of power given to individual states, even though for example things like whether one could terminate a pregnancy had been at the Federal level, now it is up to individual states.  That suddenly put a whole lot of people no longer having domain over what happens to their own body.  That decision is in the hands of someone else....

OK, so that's one of the sucky parts of states rights.

But it also means there are limits to what the Orange Geezus can do.  Governors can push back.  So unless Orange Geezus reverses his stance (and we all know he never ever does that right?), they will slow down his progress.

As in the US, Australia also has State & Federal governments although I am not sure where ultimate decision making powers lay & under what circumstances.

Fortunately, we do not have a Constitution that seems to inhibit both levels of government action & gives ultimate powers to the people in many areas.

Because Australian politicians have the ultimate powers to legislate, the voices of the masses are very rarely sought & adhered to, unless a referendum is called. Even then political power overrides the citizen voices, eg: Referendum in Oct '23. Failed, by a resounding NO vote of 69%.

Despite the heavy loss both Federal & State governments continue to pursue & implement the same policies that were rejected, particularly at the State level.

Very few Australian 🇦🇺 politicians have vested interests in the national citizenry but they do have significant personal interests involved once they abandon the people who have put them into office.

PEOPLE POWER would be nice 💪💪💪 sometimes.

Radical feminists really are going through the fucking around and finding out phase right now after conservatives can just bury them under "DEI". I really hope it was worth women losing bodily autonomy and representation in corporate spaces, TERFs.

It's time to move to Canada or the UK.  Both have 60% higher taxes but I won't have to listen to the Americans nonstop bitching and constantly at war with themselves.  Plus their stupid education systems have brainwashed everyone.  American education is one of the lowest on earth.  Start using brave.com for searching as Google and others block shit so Americans only see what those companies want them to see to keep their internal wars going that never stop.  Been seeing the new happiness, anger, and bitching.  I've served my country proudly.  We all got along.  But now, America has gotten too wobbly.  Everyone hates each other way too much.  They let themselves be gaslighted.  I no longer follow a side because they are all wackadoodles.   I wouldn't move to those countries.  I'm not that stupid.  I will find a nice tropical country that has low taxes and move there.  Warmer, kinder people.

Elaborate if you will please on how America's education system brainwashing everyone. Now I happen to agree wholeheartedly that America's education system, particularly in the public school sector, ESPECIALLY in the public school sector, is subpar at best. That being said, I'm not really clear on your claim of brainwashing. So again if you would elaborate more on this in more depth, details, examples, etc., I would be most grateful and I look forward to you your response. Thank you 🙂

please define "woke"

Wok (adj.)

A state of awareness achieved only by people stupid enough to find injustice in everything  except their own actions.

Examples of "woke" in a sentence:

1. "Fuck woke!"

2. "Woke is bullshit"

(that second one ∆∆ has a ring of familiarity to it, not to mention *truth*)
