What I like about Inn Leather is that I am not constantly being warned about my behavior.  Case in point - I stayed at a place by the beach that was combined with a formerly straight guest house.  Now , right across the street, was a high rise condo - and sure, residents could see the pool area. The owner, who was nice to be during the construction phase, was having no part of me being nude by the pool. I was like WTF, isn't that what I am paying for?  There were European guys there, who were nude, and he said nothing to them.  For me, it was like, put your bathing suit back on.   After two days, he said that he was over booked and I was going to be transferred to another guest house, that I could actually see from my current spot.  The owner was a jovial guy from Minnesota, who had a handyman/bf perhaps who I know I had hooked up with at the baths in Fort Lauderdale in years past.  He didn't care if I was naked. I wasn't out there sucking dick or in a sling, I knew I wasn't in Palm Springs for God's sake.  But he didn't care if I used the float in the pool to lay around naked.  Those two locations were moderately expensive, but again, it was not the "scene" that Inn Leather offers.

I can say on weekends the crowd is much younger, guys who are off from work come up for day passes,  Sometimes during the week locals come in, but to say everyone is in their 60s. that was not my experience,  There were guys who had booked rooms, who were from out of state, that were in their 30s and 40s, some 50s, mostly 'couples" who enjoyed the freedom that Inn Leather offers you.

No, it's not full of frills, it's just a clean "fuck joint" where you can be yourself, enjoy the sling and if you are so inclined you can leave your curtains open and see who might just want to pop in for a minute and "pop" into you, if you are lucky.   If someone fears there is rampant drug use, I can tell you I did not see anything in the open with the exception of someone smoking weed.  No one was openly doing meth, something I saw first hand in Palm Springs with the owner of the now defunct Inn Exhile standing right behind me, watching the guy.  So Inn Leather  did not have the "methy" kind of atmosphere that I have seen referenced here.  Maybe all the self righteous, judgmental individuals on this platform want to spend the extra 50 or 75 dollars a night so that they aren't offended by the use of party favors.  Frankly, at Inn Leather it was my experience that it was all done behind closed doors.

I am sorry to hear someone had a bad experience there because I found the guys in Lauderdale to be a bit younger than those in Palm Springs, especially week day passes.  I have spent multiple vacations in both areas and that is just my opinion.  Maybe the poster was just there on an "off week" perhaps??

htnhole, do you remeber a place called the Brigantine? in FTL?

Well, no .... I moved here from Chicago about 15 years ago.  I do remember the Cubby Hole though - now it's gone, thanks to the mayor's thirst for "urban renewal" - look alike midrise apts block after block after plastic block.  It was immediately South of SearsTown, which has also been torn down.

Was it the kind of joint it sounds like it was?

It was a nice clothing optional guest house with a couple of dozen rooms. Pool, hot tub, guest passes, play areas. Very clean, awesome owners. I went there in the late 90's.
