why are so many gays in germany into nazi stuff?

Yesterday, I visited a man I met on GayRomeo, and basically, his room was full of Nazi flags. His fetish is masturbating while wearing a gas mask. I've noticed that many Germans have these Nazi fetishes. I just can't understand it

I lived in Germany about 1/3rd of my life,  came out in Germany and have mostly fucked and been fucked by German men although I don't have German citizenship.  I've never personally seen this.  I have however seen some of this remotely after coming back to the USA and watching some of it in very specific subcultures since the late 90's.  Perhaps it was just completely closed to me before.

I feel like it's just become more prominent in general, lately.

Here in the American South I've noticed an uptick in guys displaying Confederate flags and referencing them in the sex profiles.

I imagine there must be some sort of power play at work here? Certainly the display of Confederacy flags goes along with RP.

This phenomenon is not limited to Germany. For better or (more likely) for worse, extremes are definitely more common and more visible throughout the world in almost every aspect of human activity today - from economics to the environment, from politics to porn, etc.

Yes, although from what I have seen there is an aspect of Nazi fetishization by some Gay men who view themselves as adherents of the left hand path (a part of the occult or more accurately an approach to the occult) and this has a long history in Germany and Austria (but not apparently Luxembourg or Switzerland, at least not something that has been reported in religious circles).

Similarly barebacking and esp. bug chasing has been linked at least as visual elements for some people, certainly not the majority, to Nazi fetish.  Of course this has also been true of master/slave fetish (which turned me off to slave play for a long time).

My first time bare was with a skinhead, when he had drugged me and blindfolded and handcuffed, he brought out his nazigear, and he was online on 3 laptops, with mostly nazi's from the USA.  They paid him online to do things to me.   Later when people showed vids they had been online of me, i was shocked to see all these nazi stuff.  His friends where not into it but still it shocked me because my grandad was wounded by the Germans in thé second world war.  I was so ashamed of what had happened to me.  But when i confronted the guy he told me it was only a fetish to him.  Still now when i see what happens in the world i feel badly and ashamed

a LOT of people died in both those wars trying to defeat those ideologies (and  a lot of our people were killed by the Nazis)

Thnx for your sweet response, it makes me feel better, but still angry on myself being so naive and stupid to get drugged myself and being used like that.   Somehow i seem always meet the wrong guys

Just for your information: to have nazi stuff (e.g flags) is a CRIME in Austria and Germany. Also the „Hitlergruß“ (lifted right hand)- at the moment it can often be seen in the USA (mostly not  Democratics🤓).

Skins: this was a common fetish in Germany and Austria- but no political background. Just jeans, short hair, Fred Perry polo, military boots. There were many skins+Punks Partys.

Gay-Nazis: might exist (as described by the OP) but certainly not big numbers.

Humilation: some have the fetish to be dominated (dressed like the victims in the concentration camps) by (Nazi)Masters.

I also remember when I went with my german BF to a leather club in Berlin ( new action ), my boy got very unconfortable because some of the leather men were wearing like a third reich "type" uniform or something very similar to that

I think it's about taboos and breaking them. That's how I believe this website operates - breaking the [banned word] of "every single time with a condom." The specific you're pointing towards is harder to wrap my head around given that then and now the extreme political right is all about shoring up traditional gender roles. There was a group of gay Nazis who were used by Hitler and others, who were then "purged" after they ceased being useful. Again, that's part of the [banned word], breaking it is the excitement of embracing something forbidden with the possible danger an added "space."

There was definitely a gay culture embedded in the Nazi movement. The “night of the long knives “ the SS killed or jailed most of the leaders of the Brown shirts who were rumored and proven to be gay. Herman Goering and other prominent Nazi’s reputed to be gay then took their lifestyle underground. Nazism and gay sex today are cosplay driven in that way. Skinhead/Nazism is not cosplay or fetish play. It’s extremism. IMO

Personally, I have never met a really obvious Nazi German (gay).

If you think of bald head , black boots and bomber jacket guys - they are not necessarily neo-nazis but it’s a fetish outfit coming actually from the punk scene, later techno scene. Some of these fetish guys are actually very left wing. So, just saying, let’s be careful with strong statements and generalizations of any group of people.

It's not that there aren't gay nazis in Germany, there certainly are. You can find weirdos in every country. It's also true that especially in the former communist east there are some god-forgotten shit towns where neo-nazism thrives. It's just this assumption that it's somehow prevalent or widespread all over Germany that I can't get behind. If anything, I'd even say the gay Nazi fetish is more popular in the US. I only came in contact with very few gay nazis, and if I remember correctly, almost all of them were Americans.

Don't get me wrong, i've fucked a number of skinheads. But those were all emulating the British skinhead culture, which became big with and is an offshoot of the punk scene as PozFunBER correctly mentioned.

As a side note: On a purely personal level, Germans certainly are more intense. Compared to them hooking up with Americans seems light, bubbly, slightly disconnected. Whereas some find Germans intense, dark, brooding. But that has little to do with Nazism.
