but we're all different. i know i have very negative knee jerk reaction to "paying for sex" and to me this falls under that category. 

i will on occasion pay to enter a sex party or a bathhouse, etc but that's a lot different than having ongoing monthly costs to a for-profit organization that just lists which of your neighbors are up for it. 😜

Agreed.  You still get what, 30 some messages a day, so it's possible. It is my "go to" site.

I made no claim, just a simple assertion independent of how well or poorly any other app may meet users needs.

I have heard about the enshittification but I’ve also seen it on the other apps. Don’t misunderstand me, all I claimed is that since I’ve paid for it for about 2 years now I am blissfully unaware of how the free version now looks and feels.

Interesting. Only Xtra and Unlimited are available in iOS. Even looking at Grindr's web subscription page there is no mention of Core or Plus. Seems like they are old plans that if you didn't get them at the time, you can't now. 

After doing some research, it looks like just 7% of the overall monthly user base of Grindr have any kind of subscription (including paying for boost) at all. No wonder they are putting the screws to users to raise more revenue. Annoying the crap out of 93% of monthly users doesn't seem like a great way to turn them into subscribers.

I tend to keep paid script to BBRT about half the year.  If I get busy and away too much, I'll let it go.  Honestly the number of guys who are looking for poz detectable are few so it doesn't really pay.

I've paid for BBRT.  It was great at first but as time progressed, like any hookup site, it works better while travelling versus seeing the same old guys from the vicinity.  So I'll usually resubscribe when I know I'll be travelling.

Based on my recent travels, it looks like BBRT is over unless you are at gay hot spot and even Palm Springs had a lot fewer men online than it did just a few months ago. It was my go to when traveling for years, so it will be an adjustment for me.

Haven’t we read here on Breedingzone that a lot of “red” Republican states are out gunning for gay porn sites?  Yes, I think BBRT is limited in a rural area to begin with, because there are only so many gay men living in the area.  Like bathhouses across this country, if we don’t support these entities, it is simple economics that they will vanish especially when regulatory bodies work to write rules taking them out of existence while we let their revenues sag.  Do something to infuse life into the gay community wherever you are.

BBRT has long been dead in bright "blue" Portland because it didn't offer profile options for "sides" and cuddlers which are the more common gay "sexual" activities here. Palm Springs has still has plenty of fuck pigs, and I was able to find fuck pigs on other hookup sites recently in CT, TX, AZ and HI, where there was no even logged into BBRT. I think what I'm witnessing is more a migration away from BBRT than anything else. My personal observation is that Sniffies is the current go to site in the parts of the US I've been to recently.

I will say it looks like Sniffies peaked here in Portland a couple of years ago, the party and hang out guys have moved almost exclusively to Doubelist making it useless for me. I'm not sure where the "sides" and cuddlers have gone to, but they aren't who I'm looking for either.

I pay for BBRT, Sniffies, and Scruff.  Whichever works best for me depends on the city I'm in.  I think overall, Sniffies is the best at finding hookups.  DoubleList is pretty good during the day, when the married/partnered guys are looking for some DL play.
