Two thoughts:

1. Yes, you should wear it, and no, it's not "too much."  Aside from chastity increasingly mainstreaming over the last several years (do to the combined impacts of COVID lockdown/solo kink exploration, better cages on the market, and more and more folks on social media embracing chastity), you should do what makes you feel comfortable and if someone else isn't into having sex with you for that reason, perhaps that's not the dick you needed in you compared to someone else's who's more comfortable with it.

2.
