Exactly, I took loads for 20 years before converting, all before prep and most of those years before undetectable was reliable. Plenty of them were full blown AIDS loads.

Let's not forget that this is fiction/fantasy.  If they were true-to-life tales, they'd generally be in another area of the forums.  In an author's self-created world, perhaps those real life odds don't exist, or work differently.  To truly enjoy any fiction (whether it be short stories, novels, movies or a tv series), a suspension of disbelief is not too much to ask. 😉
