    Also the the local news is not reporting it as often. Which probably corresponds with less testing being done. I've noticed it has fallen off the national "world" news broadcasts. They're saving it for a slow news night later this week. Probably Thursday or Friday when folks are focused on the 3 day holiday weekend. They do the scarier news stories then. Watch!

    Grindr is the new gay bathhouse/gay sauna especially for the younger generation. I can't imagine giving every guy I am not interested in at a bathhouse a detailed friendly reply as to why I am not interested. When guys insist on a 'denial letter' I usually make up some feature I like that they are not. Example, if its a muscle guy, I tell them I am into chubby guys - & vice-versa.

    I kindly🙂 disagree but I see this tracking similar to Covid. Back to normal means vax'd and unvax'd guys fucking each other like crazy. That's when I see the second wave forming, probably a year or two from now when all of the 1st dose only guys efficacy wanes. Just IMHO. Not to come off as a conspiracy theorists or anti-vaxer (apologies), but I feel there is much more to this sudden outbreak. I could be wrong.

    One of our gay sex venues here in NYC had their 'soft' reopening this weekend. Why just last weekend they were open only to schedule guys for first doses. Reps from NYC-DOH&MH were onsite. Only thirty slots were available apparently.

    Excluding monkey pox... and assuming you're fully vax'd and double boosted for Covid, why were guys still hesitant about hooking up after receiving the Covid vaccine series? Will the same hesitancy still exist after the monkey pox series of shots? And will guys now only hook-up with other guys only if they have had their monkey pox vaccination?

    I'm saying, from what I have researched so far, vaccination MAY work similarly regardless of virus type. I've not been able to find a definitive answer. I'm curious to know how well the mpx antibodies prevent infection or stop transmission.

    The mpx vaccine gives you antibodies similar to the Covid vaccine. However, there has never been a study to assess the ability to prevent mpx infection or to stop transmissions. I'm still very curious how this plays out.

    I find gays like to be (Suze Orman voice) 'approved'. Guys I chat with on Grindr define themselves by how many Covid vax+boosters they've had. Then tell me they're on prep. Then share when they received their first dose of the mpx-vax. This is the new way to ask 'are you clean'?

    Serious question. And I don't mean to inflame or go against the current narrative (nor think critically). Might there be anyone here or that you know who will NOT be getting the MPX VAX or simply waiting? Full disclosure: I have my mpx vaccine appointment confirmed for this week in NYC.

    There are some races I am attracted to much more than others. However, for me, its more a question of what 'culture' a guy is from rather than their race. Skin color and hair texture are irrelevant to me.

    MPX can survive at least 15 days - weeks and months even on contaminated surfaces especially in dark, cool, low humidity environments. Now imagine slings, benches, glory-holes, lube dispensers, toilets, etc at various venues in Europe and North America.

    I kindly disagree with this point. One should start asking where and why are these global breakouts occurring. The answer is usually shut-up, shut down gatherings and accept a vax...or be canceled. If we shut down gay events, please let's also include public parks, men's' restrooms, Grindr, bbrt.com, (this site), truck stops, ABS, and motel cum dumps.

    Most sex club events have been canceled or suspended temporarily in NYC. Surprisingly the only surviving bathhouse in NYC is still open. I suspect they will also shutter their doors in the coming weeks. I'm not sure about the bar scene as I do not frequent those spaces. City parks and gay hook-up apps are still local options.

    Most NYC events have been shutdown due to the MP breakout.

    This is my main concern. MP is spread sexually but through skin2skin direct contact. In other words, anal penetration is not required. Condoms and masks are useless. Maybe gloves will be the recommended PPE for this breakout. I also worry about the fixtures at various venues. i.e couches, fuck benches, slings, glory holes, toilets, lockers, shower areas (w/douching capabilities), etc.
