Update on my "newly" poz ex.
His conversion wasn't as recent as I thought. He converted a few months after we broke up in 2016, so while I was getting to know my late husband, the ex was taking a raw poz load. What is disconcerting is that after my man died, I went back to the ex. He never said one word about his health, and resumed breeding me. You know what that means?
I was taking his medicated poz loads in 2018 and never knew it! He just assumed that I knew.
He was kinda horrified when I told him I am a bugchaser. But he says he feels no different from before - no extra desire to breed or spread or anything like the rest of us get. Even his conversion was super mild, no flu at all. It's so weird.
I got a load from him this morning. Didn't feel any different than any other I've earned.

He is 19. What I think is largely irrelevant. What you think has power only insomuch as he is financially indebted to you. I hope though he does learn from you and your example. I do not advocate going off PrEP at that age. (Again that is not my decision but I hope he pays attention to you)

I understand that but the question was what the difference was and there definitely is a difference. Going down that road will lead to a change in his physical health which cannot , given current medical knowledge be reversed. As you say, your meds do have side effects. PrEP's side effects are minimal in most cases. I certainly know the attraction of the road he wishes to take. I chased after all. The best one can do is just try to convince him until he is older and perhaps more aware of all the consequences. Best of luck with that!!!

The difference is his meds do not cause some future health problem. They have to be monitored because they have the potential to cause some future heath problems. I do not know which meds you take nor do I know if they cause a definite health problem but like your brother's Truvada, they have a definite health risk. It is possible that it is greater than your brothers. I am aware you had to take very strong medicine to fight your infection Besides that, you have an underlying condition which can cause future health risks. Your brother does not. All that being said however were you to go off your meds and become toxic again, I would be begging you for your load quicker than you could say hiv.
