  1. I’ve found that location & environment are big factors. For example, I’ve had far more bad outcomes off Craigslist, bookstore, and bathhouse hookups than with parties on BBRT and monthly orgies hosted my my friends or me. I suspect that’s because people take more risk and have less concern for others in truly anonymous situations. On the flip side, communities with ready access to testing & treatment (e.g., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle) have lower incidence of transmission. Communities with positive sexual attitudes tend to be more aware of symptoms and definitely more proactive with testing & partner notification. For example, a buddy got fucked by over 300 guys in a week in Berlin and came home clean. During his first play session after getting back to Austin he contracted gonorrhea. Very frustrating! That said, play buddies & I have taken 20+ loads during adult bookstore sessions and usually come home clean. Playing at noon & 5pm helps, because you mostly get married & partnered guys who are careful about not bringing surprises home. So they get regularly tested & treated.
  2. I was fucking in the bathroom with 6 other guys last Sunday. Wednesday seems to be crazier.
  3. It's worth noting that Nelson Vergel has a BS in Chemical Engineering & an MBA. He's neither a Ph.D nor a medical doctor. That said, his promotion of lean muscle mass, adjunctive use of steroids, and integrative & holistic treatment were (and are!) way ahead of their time. Nelson strongly believes in ART medications. He advocates for med-resistant patients to join investigational trials of new HIV therapies. You can read more at: http://www.salvagetherapies.org/
  4. @BBBoyFromTN -- I delayed going on meds for 4 years after seroconverting. Partly out of fear about side effects, but mostly because I didn't have health insurance and didn't qualify for assistance. Those years took a serious toll on my health & immune system. The symptoms and secondary infections got pretty bad. I was miserable. I finally found a way to get on meds and my well being rapidly improved. The side effects were mild -- fun trippy dreams for the first week, then grogginess in the morning after that. I've switched meds twice; last two have had NO side effects. Most of the meds are once-a-day -- not much different than taking a vitamin. Although my immune system improved, it never fully recovered. It takes me longer to heal from bruises and cuts; longer to get over colds, flus, and sinus infections. I'd spare you that suffering if I could. Please consider getting CD4/CD8 counts and starting meds.
  5. This is why I have a very strict, "You break it, you breed it" policy.
  6. Palm Springs is crazy hot during the summer. It's 119 degrees right now. So you'll want to be sipping water & drinks with electrolytes throughout the day. It cools off during the night -- typically to 80 - 95 degrees. Because of the lack of humidity, it feels like 70 - 85 degrees in other climates. Don't be afraid to get pissed on. It dries off pretty quick & they have a shower on site. Most guys use condoms, but you can find barebacking in the barracks / military area, especially in the smaller rooms & slings.
  7. All gay nerds are nasty, dirty pigs.
  8. I'll be there, thoroughly marking my territory with my piss.
  9. Good to know that coach is mentoring him off the court as well as on it. *evil grin*
  10. Jay moved to Madison, WI. You can find him on BBRT as "venomANDlimes".
  11. More than that: It turns him on too.
