I was able to get mine in Reno NV on 8/31 at a county health department run vacc clinic at the local LGBT center. As part of it they scheduled us for the second shot on 10/5. They were also having a second clinic in mid September at a gay bar downtown. Was nice to see them finally doing outreach to the gay community after a few months of not having it available.

My sex drive temporarily increased after I started PrEP many years ago. It was freeing to not have to worry about condoms and fucking bare almost all the time made me realize how much ai had actually hated condoms. Also I no longer had any guilt when I fucked bare, which was the freeing part I think. But the initial rush faded and other factors took over for my sex drive ,(self image, depression, stress, etc). I did stop PrEP for a time during COVID and did not notice any change to sex drive after stopping nor after I resumed once lock downs ended.

I'd recommend going on PrEP if you want to continue fucking bare and want to greatly reduce your odds of getting HIV. Also as part of being in PrEP you get regular tests for the other STD's. I do agree that bare is the way to go when fucking.

So from my perspective as a Nevada resident, I'm not as confident in the Senate race here as you are. Yes Nevada has been trending Blue but the Republicans here have been receiving reinforcements from California. The irony is that the native Nevadan Republicans blame Californians for blue trend, the actual data shows we are getting more Republicans fleeing California than Democrats. Also the big sea change we had here is that after Bernie won the caucus in 2020, his supporters have taken over the state Democratic party from the old Harry Reid holdovers. So there has been some internal cconflict On the House side in Nevada, three of the four seats are currently held by Democrats, but the local gerrymander was pretty agressive so instead of the previous 2010 districts that had one safe R seat, one safe D seat and two more competitive discticts, we now have one safe R disctict and three very slightly D districts. So it is actually possible that Nevada could go from 1 R rep and 3 D reps to 4 R's. NNow having expressed the reasons to be concerned, there is also some good reasons to be optimistic. One is that there is also some infighting on the R side. Second, the Democrats took advantage of having unified control of the state government to make it easy to vote. All registered voters will be sent a mail in ballot. So that will hopefully help turnout and the higher the turnout the better Democrats chances. Third, Nevada is a fairly libertarian state and has abortion rright enshrined in the state constitution by way of a voter referendum (as well as having added gay marriage proactively to the state constitution in 2020), so the Republican overreach on social issues doesn't help them here.

It's good to set at least some expectations and ground rules in advance. For me consent is key, so I try to make sure I understand any and all hard no's of my partners. I'm in Reno NV and we just had our 4th reported case. I have curtailed my activities in light of monkey pox being present in the community. Unfortunately our local county health department doesn't have much of a supply of vaccine, so it is currently limited to individuals with a close contact of a confirmed case and lab workers that handle specimens. No indication yet when the vaccine will be made available to the public .

So another change that was made was that PrEP was classified as a preventive as of the beginning of the year (2021), so insurance companies have to cover the entire cost of it. For me, the cost dropped from $1400 a month for name brand Truvada (which I covered with the copay card until my out of pocket max was hit) in 2020 to $0 a month for the generic in 2021. Insurance company will no longer cover Truvada, so it would cost $600 a month to pay for it myself. On a slightly related note, got a letter from my insurance company last week saying that starting in 2022 that costs I covered using coupons or copay cards from drug companies would no longer count towards my deductible and out of pocket maximums. That trick was good while it lasted, Gilead basically covered my deductible and out of pocket max for 4 years.
