Although I had no clue about the terminology at the time I was prob 13 or so. I won’t go into details but the others involved would be considered predators today. Was a little older when I discovered whole in fence at back of truck stop. Didn’t really put the words together with behavior and desire until mid 30s. I’m a mandatory reporter. STI in a minor is trigger, and I’ve had to look at parents and tell them. In about half the cases they already had an idea that something was going on. Had one woman attacked husband and I assumed father of child. I have seen teens who were sexually active catching things and passing it around, legal partners, but majority of times it was abuse.

I’m not in SF. Just as a test I tried a couple of the online providers, one who I had used to get PreP years back and none of them were really ready to prescribe doxy. As a health care worker myself, I’m used to initiating practice changes and have put together a packet of studies for them. Have included it in post exposure protocol in my ED, which includes doxy, flagyl and antiviral. Just dumped packet off with my PCP. My concern is shelf life of the doxycycline. How many of us keep our meds in the correct environment for long term storage? -
Yes I see a therapist. Have PTSD, ADHD, depression (all pretty linked together). Finally found a therapist that I trust. Female, short hair, butch looking, her orientation has never come up. I have it interesting to talk about my behaviors, which are considered risky. Discussed Friday, what I really got from totally anon scene, the risk, the uncertainty, the fear. No answers but is very comforting to have someone who I can be completely honest with. Plus we actually discussed up front what she would tell insurance company, how it would be documented, etc. To those of you in therapy, are you honest with your therapist? Are you getting any benefit from it.

Going to be in Miami for a 4 day weekend mid January. (get in a Thursday evening and leave Sunday afternoon). Someone recommended Fairwind Hotel on Collins. Was in Denver last weekend for a conference. Unfortunately staying in a hotel that needed keycards for everything. Put out add on Doublist, updated my Grindr profile and a bBRT post. Over the years therapists have been hit or miss. Early VA therapists addressed PTSD but had no clue about risky behavior and I didn’t bring it up. When I was in Atlanta I was lucky enough to find a therapist who I could be totally honest with and discuss my risky behavior openly. I’m now in a more sexually repressed city and am hunting for a new therapist. How have you all,gone about finding therapist you can be completely open about?

There is an old joke about man showing up at the pearly gates and is greeted by St Peter. The man was asked why he was so late he had died a week ago, the man’s response was “ that’s ok I was in the ICU.” I’ve been doing this for 40+ years. We have palliative care now and one of my jobs is to bring that up to the team so we can discuss when it’s time for that. In critical care everyone deserves the maximum effort and we tend to be pretty good at that, we aren’t so good at knowing when to stop. -
