  1. Well one article discussing HIV in Germany puts the % of MSM between 20 and 59 at 2.5% or 80,000 men. [think before following links] [think before following links] https://magazin.hiv/magazin/neuigkeiten/mediathek-berliner-forscher-entwickeln-schatzverfahren-10-prozent-der-schwulen-grosstadter-hiv-positiv/ Ill look at the actual data for Berlin after I return.
  2. Because it seems to me that 20% of Berlin men are Gay (it's definitely more that 10%). But a much smaller % are piggy. It's true I made that up but this is also a worst case back of the envelope estimate.
  3. Also since the Nazis don't want any privacy, actually out all the LGBTQ R's and white supremacists this time. Any actionable information should be publicized.
  4. And they are right. Let's spilt the US into an actual democracy where everyone has guaranteed civil liberties and let the fascists have their own country. Then seal the borders to keep the Nazis out.
  5. Monkeypox has a two week incubation period. Most of those actually infected will not know it for a week or two. The next few infection cycles are locked in now. In the worst case this is 7 (two wks / 2, since cases were roughly doubling every two days). 2 ^7 is 128. In the worst case there are actually 128k men in Berlin infected (although it's more likely to be around a quarter or so of that). Berlin has 3.6M people. Approx. 20% are Gay males. 128k/720k means in the worst case 18% of Gay men in Berlin are infected now although it will take two wks approx. to show up (symptoms are a lagging indicator, esp. with this long incubation period).
  6. It's important to note that the CEO in this case is an immunologist.
  7. I wasn't at the last Cumunion but usually they are really getting started at midnight,. In the past the sort of empty out around 5am or so (they officially have gone to 3am in the past),
  8. At least the first dose of the Monkeypox vaccine is available in Montreal to Gay tourists (maybe all tourists),. I got mine yesterday,. You do have to make an appointment online first, This generosity can't last forever and the US *IS* going to fuck this up,. Make your appointment and get up here,
  9. Using confirmed monkeypox cases in the Netherlands, investigators estimated the average time from infection to symptom onset was 8.5 days. [think before following links] https://www.contagionlive.com/view/average-monkeypox-incubation-period-is-8-5-days
  10. Supposedly sex club events in NYC are closing. SF Horse Fair scheduled for July 23 has been canceled over monkeypox concerns.
  11. I was wondering if the East Side Club was closed but there is nothing about it on their website. I was thinking of stopping by tomorrow while on a trip.
  12. The vaccine is not 100% effective. Currently WHO and the CDC are both claiming that the JYNNEOS vaccine is 85% effective against monkeypox. This could get confusing since that is the same claim made for the smallpox vaccine against monkeypox (although the question of the waning immunity of the smallpox vaccine has been raised since practically no one has had a smallpox vaccine in the US since 1972 and in Europe since 1976).

  14. When we post the link from web.archive the board breaks the url down into two links and injects a warning between them. You can reconstruct the url by concatenating both the urls.
  15. Some of it is still accessible: [think before following links] [think before following links] https://web.archive.org/web/20051124210327/[think before following links] [think before following links] http://www.cuteboybbparty.com/loadsfame/loads_of_fame.htm Looks like they stopped hosting parties at the end of 2005.
  16. Previous monkeypox outbreaks outside of Africa were quickly contained (basically they died out on their own). And we basically ignored outbreaks in Africa.
  17. There's a shortage of monkeypox vaccine. Would one dose suffice? [think before following links] [think before following links] https://www.science.org/content/article/there-s-shortage-monkeypox-vaccine-could-one-dose-instead-two-suffice
  18. That makes sense, thanks!
  19. What is the purpose of the former sling room/orgy room space now? It has a raised platform taking up most of the space now. Sometimes guys still play a little in there but I haven't seen more than two at a time.
  20. So this doesn't sound too bad and the projection is getting out to where it is dangerous to project further (I am well aware of the projections already reported in the press). However, if the model I induced holds, there are likely to be > 200k cases by Christmas. There is a small chance that the outbreak will die out on it's own but I wouldn't bet on it (although the CDC seems to be doing exactly that in their "wait and see" heavy approach).
  21. There are. But they are a minority of str8 people (how much of a minority is not clear though). I was reading a blog recently where the author stated that it was only recently that he realized that the majority of Gay men don't have nearly as much sex as he thought. He's correct. The majority of people on this board who are sexually active tend to be much more sexually active than the average Gay man, although this has to be considered for age and region/city as well. At this stage in the outbreak it appears that transmission is broadly occurring through sex (although at least one Gay man went on a party weekend , traveled with his two partners, neither of whom came down with monkeypox but he has classic symptoms - he did have sex at one or more sex parties but only with his partners he was traveling with).
  22. No one has died yet in this outbreak (and the strain is the less virulent one of the two) but people are experiencing severe illness with serious pain if they come down with pustules. Cumulative cases in the US are now just over 1000. The virus is spreading exponentially. Unless the outbreak is contained (which looks unlikely) , the US will have 10,000 cases around August 25, 2022 and about 20,000 around September 12, 2022 (I know because I induced a model of the cumulative case curve - this is not the first time I have done this and my projections are correct within a couple of % - cumulative cases tend to be easy to accurately project in the early stages of many uncontrolled epidemics). As for COVID, > 1M people have died from this virus in the US and > 6M have died worldwide.
  23. They are giving a monkeypox specific vaccine. I have read that there is a problem/cause for concern giving the smallpox vaccine to immunocompromised people.
  24. DC has already begun rolling out the monkeypox vaccine (when they did this in NYC they apparently ran out of vaccine). You can apparently register an appointment here: [think before following links] https://dchealth.dc.gov/page/monkeypox
  25. You may be able to get it in Germany: let me know if you need anything translated (this lists how to contact organizations to get the monkeypox vaccine at the end) : [think before following links] [think before following links] https://www.aidshilfe.de/affenpocken-impfung Here is that page in English: [think before following links] https://www.aidshilfe.de/monkeypox-vaccination There are some difference between the two mostly that the list of organizations for vaccination are not listed and the English page says that the vaccination schedule is still being worked out. The German page says when several of the German states are rolling out the vaccine (beginning today even though some has been distributed already) and who to contact. Germany has already distributed some vaccine but the real roll-out begins today. I was going to suggest that you might also be able to get it in the Netherlands but the English page says "by invitation" so presumably they are primarily vaccinating through contact tracing (if so, that will be dropped). [think before following links] [think before following links] https://www.rivm.nl/en/monkeypox Also, so good news : both the German and Dutch pages specifically say that if you got the smallpox vaccine then a single dose of the monkeypox vaccine is sufficient (at least in most cases).
