As a progressive, I feel "grassroots" is the more widely understood term. As a bottom who literally has his bare ass facing upward as he types this... In recent years, more judges in the U.S. have been throwing out cases where the state (as plaintiff) was pressing incest charges against consenting male adults. Their reasoning pretty reliably comes down to the fact that, as men, there is absolutely zero chance of inbreeding. The basis of incest's illegality comes from the propensity for the children to have birth defects; it's seen as a form of child abuse. This is also the basis for abortion laws in so many states having carveouts for cases where the mother would otherwise be forced to carry to term a child who was the product of incest. Adhering to the law is good, but only insofar as the law is founded upon actually serving the jurisdiction it was written for.
