I'm not in a medial prefession, but the documents seem to suggest these are the appropriate blood tests to order:

• HIV test
  
• Hepatitis B (While not required I'd recommend a Hep C test)
  
• If you haven't already received a Hepatitis A & B vaccination, request it. (Only Hep B vaccinations are noted in the documents. Rimming poses a risk of catching Hep A, so the AB combination vaccine is recommended for all gay men)
  
• Creatinine Clearance
  
• Serum Phosphorus
  
• Urine Glucose
  
• Urine Protein

Did you guys already on PrEP have to sign the agreement form?

I do get a laugh out of some of the warnings in the Gilad documents. Don't take Truvada for PrEP if your taking drugs you would only be prescribed if you already had HIV. Probably cut and paste from their warning when taking Truvada as part of HAART (Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy). It just seems so out of place in the information about Pre Exposure to HIV.

When I started PrEP close to a year ago now, even the gay doctor I go to was somewhat unfamiliar with it. Now they have a link on their website, hahaha

And no, I didn't have to sign anything to get my prescription. I'm fortunate: My doctor has a lot of gay patients and is already knowledgeable about HIV (including PrEP) so it was an easy conversation. Mostly he counseled me on the importance of adhering to the once-a-day pill instructions, emphasizing how important it is to not miss doses to achieve the most protection.

Are generics cheaper than true truvada? I was thinking of getting imports.

I worked in a homeless shelter in Philadelphia and was homeless for a period of over a year and a half in Philadelphia.  I found out that just taking the initial Hep B vaccine is not sufficient.  It is recommended to get a booster Hep B approximately every decade.

Hepatitis B virus can survive outside the body at least 7 days. During that time, the virus can still cause infection if it enters the body of a person who is not infected.

Dr Gary Werntz is a good one to go to. Very knowledgeable.

Gilead pays more than $200 a month in benefits. 

A friend of mine is on prep, and he said they covered the $1,600 discounted cost until his $2,500 deductible has been met. 

He also said that his pharmacy applied a coupon, without even needing anything from him. Lucky bastard now doesn't pay anything out of pocket for any medical care for the rest of the year.
