Hi,

i'm neg and I recently registered to bbrt. I chatted with a guy, he says he's neg

when i asked him what brings him here he answered: "whatever comes my way. im a normally horny adventourous guy."

Then i asked if he wasn't afraid of fucking bb he answered: "Partying and BB is always risky. Ive done it several times and im clean and

so were they. so fun and safe. lol"

Do you think I should trust him and go ahead or i should be more careful?

The best rule of advice is to never trust anyone online regarding their status. When I hookup and fuck bare, I assume the person could easily be poz.

I've seen more than a few guys on BBRT who say they are either poz or undetectable, but on their A4A profile, they say they're negative and some even say safe sex only. Go figure.

That's why I got on PrEP so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Unless you know for sure, you should assume his status is unknown. Having BB sex with him puts you in the highest risk. You have to decide if this level of risk is acceptable to you. I struggle with this too. Taking a sex break and going on Prep. Best of luck!

Let me put it like this- I trusted a guy from BBRT who claimed he was neg and now, I am poz because of it. Plenty of guys lie about their status, but even worse than that, many guys don't really know their status. Even guys who are honest when telling you they tested neg a recently could very well be unaware that they have converted to poz since that last test or converted during the window period of their last test. And those guys are carrying the highest viral loads, making them the most dangerous partners to play with.

Whatever way you look at it, it is risky. The only ways to mitigate those risks are to either not play around on a site like BBRT, play safe, or go on PrEP. Anything else and you're putting yourself at risk.

I agree with Poptronic. My sexual health doc said the same regards guys who bareback regularly and think they are neg but are recently poz being the ones spreading HIV, not the poz guys on treatment. Aside from PreP, which is not available everywhere, your lowest risk would be with openly poz guys on medication who don't 'party and play' (sex and drugs combined) and have an 'undetectable' viral load. My doc says they can be the safest bet. Neg-neg can be safe but due to the latency of diagnosis you can never be sure. Bareback is a risk, but then life is full of risk. Weigh it up for yourself and then take responsibility for your own actions. No one else can.

if you can trust a poz guy being undetectable, you got the best case to bareback, but indeed it's never 100% risk free... negs that only trust and fuck bare negs not to take any chance, well, that's the greatest myth and the biggest risk.

The trusting issue has a lot to do with HOW one hooks up with a guy you meet anywhere, including BBrt. If I wanted to make sure that a guy I meet online is being truthful I wouldn't jump into fucking right away. I would first meet for coffee and connect with him in a way where we see each other as a human beings. That way one maximizes the chances for being truthful.

I once met a young guy I found extremely hot. We first met for lunch and then decided we wanted to have sex. He had never tried anal sex. He had seen it in porn and wanted to try topping me for the first time. I had been tested recently for all STIs and well past the window period. I told him about my tests and that there was nothing to worry about. He fucked me bareback and this was his first time fucking. He loved the way it felt when he was breeding me so much that we tried it again later for a second time. A few days later I went to the sauna and took a few anon loads. A week later the hot young guy contacts me again to tell me that he wanted to fuck me again. We got together but I told him that I did not want to fuck bareback because I wasn't sure of my situation with STIs. I was sorry I took the loads at the sauna because I would have preferred to have sex with the young guys.

I was honest with him because I saw him as a human being. In an anonymous situation I would have responded that I was "clean" because my last test was HIV-, although 2 days earlier I had taken a few anon loads.

Slowfuck - I will lick, suck and kiss you anywhere you want. Anywhere. This is precisely the message we want to be getting over. Even better, when PrEP comes online in the UK, we'll have complete chemical warfare against HIV. By the time truvada may prove problematical (and it is thought that guys process it differently depending on the presence of HIV), there'll be other PrEP drugs.

You can't base trust on a hook up site or any other social media. One is no more trust worthy than the other. They are all ways for men to meet to fuck. BBRT is geared towards men who don't use condoms, so you are likely to meet men who are poz for HIV or any other STI. It's not morality, or trend. If you are ok with the risk, go have a blast. If not, don't use that site as you are not ready for bareback sex. If it happens to you, it's your responsibility, no one elses.

To expound on what Poptronic said about being with a guy who lied, I was infected by a guy who said he was negative. He didn't lie, he just didn't know yet. His viral load was through the roof and one fuck is all it took. Newly infected guys are the most infectious ones out there. If he's poz and on meds with an undetectable viral load, you have very little risk. If he is recently infected he may not yet know. This is another reason regular testing is so important.

Bingo. Even for guys that say they are undetectable I try to avoid the sketchy ones. I have also asked what treatment a guy is on before to see if they really have any clue what undetectable is.

The pre hookup questions should be more like "when was your last test?" 'How often do you test??" "how many bb encounters where you were the bottom in the last xxx weeks? (use your own timeframe judgement depending on last test answer)". As you can see, this is considerably more in depth than "are you neg?". Party and play guys increase your risk regardless of their answers.

Beyond this, your safer hookups will be with guys (consistently) on PrEP or poz undetectable guys. Hardly any risk difference one to another. You don't show your location but if in USA little reason you should not be on PrEP yourself.

Great question. "When was your last test?" is the most important one. Anyone who is a bottom or versatile on BBRT increases their risk ten fold.

I've also found that many guys on there PnP...Meth goes hand in hand with HIV, you can't have one without the other.

If you are in the U.S. and Bareback regularly, or plan to, you need to talk to your doc and get on PrEP. This is particularly the case if you bottom. I've been on PrEP for the past 6 weeks and have a lot less anxiety when I take it raw.
