Author's note:  First of all, sincere apologies it has taken so long for me to get back to this story.  My intentions were there but (as we all know) the road to hell is paved with those.  I just haven't had the drive to actually do it so it has been languishing in the back of my head for all these months (even though a substantial portion was already written).

Anyway, I've broken the ending into two parts... the chapter below and an epilogue I will post in the AM (after another final proofread).  Truth be told, I'm still not 100% happy with it (too much "telling" the story and not enough showing).  Feel free to drop me a DM if you liked it (or have any constructive criticism).

Part 5:  Finding a New Path

Calvin yawned as he punched in for work.  He felt so tired and achy.  Maybe it was just having to get up early for work by 6:30 AM.  Or maybe he was coming down with the flu? Whatever.  He definitely felt sick… and feeling sick just made everything worse.

As if life wasn’t bad enough already.

His family had cut him out of their lives.  He had tried to call, to apologise to his father, but no one would pick up.  Then his mobile phone stopped working.  His father must have cancelled the account so he couldn’t even try to call anymore.

Without his father paying the bill, he had lost his beautiful apartment.  Luckily the landlord had taken pity on him and let him move into a small garden level “efficiency” apartment in another building until he could get back on his feet.  It wasn’t nearly as nice but it was a roof over his head.

He had, of course, dropped out of university.  Even if his father hadn’t cut him off, he simply couldn’t understand the lectures or the reading.  It was pointless.  He knew he used to be smart.  He could remember it.  But he just felt so slow now.  Thinking was so hard.   Sometimes it just made his head hurt.

Every plan he had ever made, every expectation for the future, every dream of making a difference in the world… it all felt like a joke now.

The only bright spot, if it even was a bright spot, was at least he had finally found a job that lasted for more than a few days.  He had been hired by a hotel four weeks ago… but even that had been hell.  He had started at the front desk but the computer system was just too fucking complicated.  The HR lady was nice, though, and moved him to the restaurant to work as a waiter.  That had been a bust too.  He kept forgetting the orders.  After that, he was sure they were going to fire him.  But then he was offered one more job, his current one, and that seemed ok so far.

He collected his trash picker and some plastic bags.  He always had to start with the trash outside the hotel or his manager would have his ass.  Not that the older man wouldn’t have it anyway, of course… that was partly how he had got and kept this job.  His boss said he had a beautiful ass every time he fucked him.  He didn’t find his boss particularly attractive, maybe if he lost a hundred pounds or something, but the thought of getting fucked made his own dick get hard.  It always did now.

Autumn was now well under way and he pulled his coat a little tighter around him as he made his way around the building.

“Calvin?  Is that you?”

He turned around and smiled in spite of himself.  “Evan!” Calvin’s cock was decidedly hard at the site of the stud.  “It’s good to see you.”

“You too.  Are you working here now then?”

“Yeah.  Been working here since I dropped out of school.  What brings you here this morning?”

“Oh… I spent the night with a client here last night.”

Calvin felt that Evan was watching him, waiting for a reaction. But he didn’t really understand.  “A client?  You mean you work for the hotel?  I haven’t seen you around… ”

“Not exactly.”  Evan pulled him into a hug.  “I thought you never called because you figured out what I do for a living.  Some guys freak out about it.”

Calvin was about to ask what Evan meant when the other man stepped back just slightly and looked at him.

“Babe, you're burning up.  Are you feeling ok?”

“Not really to be honest.  Just got the flu i think.”

“The flu?”  Evan’s face dropped.  “Oh fuck… this is my fault.”

“Your fault?  What do you mean… did you give me the flu?”

“Not exactly.  Listen… we need to talk and I’ve got to tell you something.  Why don’t you go in and tell them your too sick to work today?  I don’t think you’d be lying.”

“I can’t afford to lose my job…”

“Trust me, they will know you aren’t faking it.  Now go in and tell them, I’ll wait here.”

Calvin nodded.  It was so easy to just go along when he was told what to do… and the truth was that he really didn’t feel well. Plus Evan was as hot as he remembered.

His boss was just arriving when Calvin reached the man’s office. He didn’t, in the end, even need to ask for the time off.  His boss took one look and frowned.

“You look like shit.  Go.  Get home and get some rest.  We can get by for a day or two.  And you had better not have anything contagious, slut.”

A few minutes later Calvin was back in his street clothes and back with Evan.  The dark haired man put his arm around Calvin, reassuringly, and led him back to the apartment where they had fucked weeks ago.

It didn’t take long to reach Evan and Kirk’s apartment.  It seemed nicer than Calvin remembered but that was probably just in comparison to where he was living now.

Evan helped him undress and insisted Calvin lay in his bed.  He brought hot tea and a cool towel which he laid on Calvin’s forehead.

“I don’t want to be any trouble…”  Calvin protested.

“Hush.  You’re staying here at least until you are better.  So I don't want to hear any argument.”

From the first time they met, something had just clicked for Evan. Love at first sight?  He didn’t believe in that shit but… who knows?  He had thought about Calvin often since they met.  He had been genuinely disappointed when he had never called.  And seeing him sick this morning, he wanted to take care of him.  Protect him.  Maybe even love him.  Evan had never felt something like this before.  It was… scary.

At last Evan sighed. “When we met last month, there was something I should have told you.”

“What do you mean?”

“I kind of thought you knew from the way you were staring at my biohazard tat.  But I guess not.  I am - Kirk and I both are - HIV positive.  Kirk just started meds about a week ago and I’m not on them yet.  We both probably had a very high viral load when we all fucked.”

Calvin didn’t understand ALL the words but he knew what HIV was.  “You gave me AIDS?”

“Well, probably not AIDS.  But it looks like you're seroconverting… that means your body is trying, and failing, to fight off the infection.”

“Is this gonna kill me?”  To be honest, Calvin felt like he could die right now.  Fever and chills alternately racked his body.

“Not if we take care of it.”

Calvin was about to say he didn’t have medical insurance but stopped.  “… we?”

“Yeah, you’re staying here at least until you are better.  And I want to get to know you better.  Would that be ok?”

“Yes… I would like that.  I would really, really like that!”

“You forgive me, then?  Forgive me for infecting you?”

“Yeah.  Maybe.” Calvin smiled.  “But you need to fuck me.”

“You horny little slut.”  Evan laughed. “You can barely sit up and you still want a cock up your ass?Well, when you are feeling better, I promise I will.”

Evan tucked Calvin under the covers and slipped out of the room to let the younger man sleep.  He and Kirk were to blame, he told himself, so they needed to take care of him.  There was more to it that, he knew, but he felt comfortable with this explanation for now.

It was dark when Calvin woke again. He felt even worse.  He heard voices arguing.

“He’s staying here until he feels better.” Evan sounded a little upset.  “End of.”

“Fuck, dude, whatever.”  Was Kirk’s reply.  “He had better not keep you from working though.  We have clients lined up all week and rent is coming due.”

“I’ve got an idea about that…”

He heard Kirk laugh.  The blond laughed a lot, Calvin remembered.   It was a cute laugh though… and the argument of a moment earlier was clearly forgotten.    “And what wickedness is spinning in that head of yours?”

“I’m thinking three of us could do even more business…”

Calvin didn’t really follow the conversation beyond that. He drifted back to sleep with the distant voices of Evan and Kirk sounding like a sweet lullaby.

On the third day, Calvin woke to the smell of eggs and bacon.  He still felt miserable… but better.  Well enough, in fact, that his rumbling stomach drove him to climb out of the bed.

Evan had slept with him each night except for the night before when Kirk had slept snuggled up to him instead, his hard cock pressed into Calvin’s back.

It was Kirk who was busy in the kitchen making breakfast.  Nude.  His pretty butt proudly on display.

“How are you feeling?”  Kirk turned and asked cheerfully.  “Hungry?”

“Hungry for something.”  Calvin licked his lips as Kirk’s cock swung into view.

“Down boy.  Lets get some food in your belly first… then we can see about some of my special sauce.”

Kirk handed over a plate of eggs and several strips of bacon then stood back, bemused, as Calvin devoured  everything on the plate.  “So … are you hungry or just really eager for some special sauce?”

“Both!”

“Evan’s right.  You ARE cute as fuck.”

Calvin looked around.  “Where is Evan?”

“He had to work last night.  He’ll be home shortly.”  Kirk put on a mock-stern expression.  “But he made me promise not to talk to you about that until he gets home… so that’s all I’m saying.”

Kirk pulled him in for a kiss.  Calvin felt the other man’s cock stir against his hip and he couldn’t stop himself from reaching out to stroke it.  In return Kirk’s hand reached around to gently stroke his butt.  A soft moan escaped Calvin’s chest.

He didn’t resist as Kirk’s hands gently pressed down on his shoulders.  Allowing himself to drop to his knees. Kirk’s naked crotch in front of him.  He buried his face between the blond’s thighs.  Savouring the sweaty, cummy smell.  Licking and sucking the ballsack before working his way up to allow the hard cock to slip between his lips and deep into his throat.

“Damn, dude.  You’re fucking good at that!”

Calvin felt a flash of pride.  He loved cocks and he loved being good at pleasing them.  But at the word ‘fucking’ his ass was suddenly as hungry as his stomach had been before eating.  He stood up, leaned against the counter, and offered his ass.

Kirk did not have to be asked.  He quickly slid his bare cock into the eager boy hole.

It was not a long fuck.  But it left them both, for the moment at least, very satisfied.

Kirk’s cock was just starting to soften and slide out of Calvin’s hole when they heard the front door open.

“We’re in the kitchen.”  Kirk called out.

Calvin tried to stand up but Kirk gently, yet firmly, held him bent over the counter.  His finger teasing a drop of cum out of Calvin’s inner recesses as Evan entered the kitchen.

“I see you are feeling better then.” Evan chuckled.

Kirk’s hand eased up and Calvin was able to stand up.  “I’m so sorry… I was just so horny and his cock was so hard…”

Evan’s lips closed on his, blocking Calvin’s further protests.  “Shhh.  It’s ok, babe.  Nothing to be embarrassed about.  In fact, if I weren’t so tired, I would fuck you myself.”

“Oh…”  A look of pain flashed in Calvin’s eyes.  “From what you said the other day, I thought you wanted to date or something…”

Evan kissed him again.  “That is very possible… I think you are amazing and sweet.  But… well… let’s just say I’m not a believer in monogamy.”

Calvin was a bit confused… but mostly relieved.

“Let’s go into the front room and sit down.  I think we should have a little chat now that you are feeling better.”

Evan took Calvin’s hand and led him to a chair, stopping only to put a towel down so the cum dripping from his ass didn’t leave a stain.  Then he sat on the couch facing him and Kirk sat next to him.

“What do you think Kirk and I do?”

“Well, you're students.  Right?”

“Yes.  But what do you think we do for work?  For money?”

“I don’t know… I saw you at the hotel but you said you don’t work there.”

“No, I don’t work for the hotel.  It’s too hard to have a full time job and keep your grades up.  But Kirk and I found a solution a few months back.  A way to make money in our spare time… and have fun at the same time.”

“I don’t…”

Kirk put his hand on Evan’s knee to stop him. “Let me try.”

Evan nodded.

“Calvin.  We’re young, fit, and (as you know so well) hung. We look like the guys a lot of gay men fantasied about when they were younger.  So they pay us to have sex with them.  We’re ‘escorts’.”

It took another moment before the pieces fell into place for Calvin.  “You make money by having sex?   That is the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard.  I would love to do that if I could.”

Evan breathed and relaxed.  “Really?  Because I was thinking you could move in here, with Kirk and me, and work with us.”

“You want me to move in with you?”

“If you want.”

“I… I… would love that.  I used to be so smart.  But I’m just lost now.”

Evan wondered what Calvin meant but decided they could talk about that another time.  The poor kid was probably just confused.

“You need to get a bit more rest but in a day or two we will go get your things and move you in here.  Then you can join me on a couple of jobs to see how it goes.  I have a couple clients who really love threeways.”

Calvin smiled as, for the first time in weeks, he felt hope.

Part 6:  Epilogue / Conclusion (One year later…)

“I need to be heading out.  My client wants me to get there about 6.”

“Well, come give us a kiss before you go.”  Kirk called back.

Calvin tossed his overnight bag down by the front door and walked into the kitchen where his two boyfriends were sitting. It was mid-terms so they had both had to cut back on clients this week so they could study.  School, of course, was not something that Calvin had to worry about.  He didn’t mind anymore though.  Why anyone willingly sit and read a book or listen to some professor go on and on and on?

The hotel he had been working at the year before had been happy to let him go without fuss when he told them he was quitting.  Probably saved them from having to fire him.  His old boss had rented him once though and gave him a good hard fuck.  Said he was glad Calvin had finally found a job that fit his skill set.

He had never heard from his father, but his mother had sent him a letter a month ago or so.  Saying she missed him.  Saying she was trying to get his father to relent.  Calvin hadn’t replied yet.  He kept thinking he should have Evan or Kirk help him write a reply… he just kept forgetting.

Even his romantic life had worked out better than he could have ever thought.  Evan and Kirk were adamant that they were not a couple before he had moved in.  Just friends with benefits.  But somehow, when Calvin moved in they had all ended up in a relationship together.  Somehow they all complimented each other in a way that just seemed to work.

“This booking is an all-nighter in a hotel, isn’t it babe?”  Evan asked.

“Yep.  So don’t wait up!”  Calvin winked.

“You dirty little slut.”  Kirk teased

“That’s why you love me.”

“True.  Well, get going then… but I’ll have breakfast waiting for you when you get home in the morning.  And some of that special sauce you love so much.”

Calvin stepped from the taxi he had taken to his appointment.  He never drove anymore  Just so many things to have to remember and keep track of.  Kirk and Evan had been terrified the first — and only — time they had been in the car with him behind the wheel.  They were pretty adamant that he should never drive again.

He stopped in the lobby restroom to go pee before going up to the hotel room.  His client hadn’t mentioned that fetish so he thought it was better to just get it out of the way.

The restroom was empty except one other man.  One nondescript man.  Neither short not tall.  Average build.  A face that could be young or old or both or neither.

Calvin stopped in his tracks.  He knew this man.

This was the stranger.  From the party.  Over a year ago.  Before everything changed.  This was the man who had changed him somehow.  Calvin’s memory was not what it had once been.  But he remembered the stranger’s name:  Seb.

Calvin was unable to move.  His pulse was racing.  His body sweating.  A rabbit trying to stay still, desperately hoping the wolf doesn’t see him.

But Seb saw.  He turned towards Calvin and frowned. “I know you.  I never forget a face.  Particularly not a mortal I’ve feasted on. And I can see I’ve feasted on you.”

He paused.  “Ah yes.  I remember.  You were a little morsel I picked up on the side.  The smart boy.  Or you were smart back then anyway.”

Seb circled Calvin. Stalking.  “So what have you been up to, I wonder?  I usually watch what happens after I feast but I had bigger fish to catch at the time so I never got around to checking up on you.  You don’t mind if I look through your timeline, do you?  Of course you don’t.”

Seb’s eyes shifted for moment, as if he were looking at something in the distance, before looking back to Calvin.

“Well, well, well.  What an interesting year you’ve had.  You’ve gone from a straight genius virgin with a promising - albeit lonely - future to a (if you forgive me for saying) not-too-bright gay whore.  I guess I do good work even when I don’t try.  Yay me.”

Calvin’s eyes, the only thing he could move, followed the circling stranger.

“I could change you back, you know.”  Seb mused.  “Would you like that?  I could even take you back to that very moment.  Make this whole year go away.  Give you your intelligence back, your family back, your future back.  I’ve just been feasting on a silly Mormon boy who thought his god would protect him from ‘evil’… so I’m in a particularly good mood.   Say the word and I’ll give your old life back.”

The restroom blurred.  Or, rather, it seemed like two different rooms were overlapping.  The hotel restroom and the toilet where Calvin had met Seb a year before.  A choice.

Calvin’s heart beat faster.  His mind was working.  For the first time in over a year, he could think.  REALLY think.  And, with a word, he could have his old life back.  Everything he had once been.

But…

He had a new life now.  He had Evan.  And Kirk.  And sex.  Lots and lots of sex.  He was happy in a way that he had never been when he was smart.  He could have his old life or his new one. Not both.  A choice.

“No.  Please don’t.”

“No?  Are you sure?"  Seb feigned surprise.  “You do understand that there will be pain, and loss, and sorrow in your future either way you go?  You won’t always be a young and beautiful creature with men giving you money to savour a bit of your flesh. And the virus in you will progress and take its toll.  Your health and looks with fail.  So I ask again, a final time:  are you sure you don’t want that other life back?  Intelligence, money, comfort?”

“No.  The cost for that old life is too much.  It’s not worth even a year with Evan and Kirk.”

“Very well then.  Keep your new life.”

But Seb frowned.  There was something that didn’t add up.  How did these two young men, selling themselves for cash, suddenly fall in love with his little plaything?  It seemed so out of character for them.

And then Seb saw it.  Both men, Evan and Kirk, bore signs of his touch.   His particular handiwork was imminently recognisable. But he had never met either of them.  So… how?  When?

“Ah. Of course.”  Seb couldn’t help but laugh.  He turned back to Calvin.  “You and I have been destined to bump into each other again today.  Apparently, I’m in an even better mood right now than I thought.  So let me give you a parting gift.”

Seb reached out into the timeline.  The human concept of cause and effect was so limited.  Flawed.  He pitied them for their existence inside of time.

There.  The first meeting between Calvin and his two boyfriends. And their reunion a few weeks later.

He knew exactly what changes to make.  Where to touch and nudge.  Because he had just seen the after-effects of his changes.  With his touch, his little edits, they both fell in love with Calvin.  Wanted to be with him.  Protect him.  So the year could proceed as Calvin remembered.  And the future as Seb himself could already see.

It was, of course, a bit of a violation of the Laws that bound his kind:  neither Evan or Kirk had consented nor had they ever been cursed by another mortal.

Oh well, never let it be said that a demon can’t do a good deed once in a while.

“Now, you truly have been a delicious diversion.  Twice.  Thank you!  But I have real work elsewhere and so I leave you to the life you have chosen.”

Calvin blinked.  He was back in the hotel restroom.  Alone.  He could move freely.  For just a moment, his old intelligence lingered.  Then faded.  Gone forever.

But he was… content.

A year ago his life was structured and controlled by his dad.  Then it had gone spinning out of control the day he met Seb.

Now?  His life may not be perfect, he might not be perfect, his future might not be perfect… but it was his choice.  He had, for at least that moment, taken control.  Chosen his past and his destiny.

He quickly took the pee he had come into the restroom for before heading for the hotel elevator.  He had a client waiting.  And Evan and Kirk waiting for him at home in the morning.
