For certain @phillygwm.  I know men who started with adults around them as a young person and they at least appear to have thrived with that.  But I also know people who emotionally crashed and burned as a result.  

Indeed incest has been pretty universally made illegal.  But the mindset for that is dad/daughter.

Sure.  Incest laws primarily exist to discourage inbreeding.  If procreation is impossible, for whatever reason, society wouldn't have a compelling need to intervene.  But it's still illegal because of the "ick factor."

Likewise, ages of consent exist to protect the child and it's an inexact science.  I could handle sex when I was 10 but informed consent is more than that.  If an older relative, teacher, etc. wanted to play with me, I wouldn't have wanted to.  But would I have enough agency to say no?   And if I gave in, would I have been messed up?

I've always felt there were a lot more priests, scout leaders, teachers, etc. involved with kids but in many cases the kid didn't report because (s)he wasn't emotionally damaged.
