Cialis and heartburn

Recommended Posts

Anyone else have this problem?  And know if it goes away or just gets worse?  I've been on it the past 3 days, wore a cock ring yesterday and was half hard and HORNY all day.  LOVED IT, and would like to STAY horny like this everyday, but I've also had some pretty bad heartburn and not sure taking Tums every single day is a good remedy.  Will ask my doctor, but crossing my fingers maybe it goes away after it's in my system awhile.  Open to advice if you've had similar experience though.  I have the same issue with Viagra and have trouble using it for more than a couple days in a row.  I use trimix frequently (no side effects, needle tho), but I LOVED the low grade/half hard state I was in ALL day yesterday - ready to go at any time 🙂

Sounds like there could be a few things at play here, pardon the pun.

Cialis (tadalafil) doesn't have the same level of side effects or contraindications as Viagra (sildenafil), but not sure what else you've been taking or whether these are a residual effect of switching to Cialis and the Viagra not being completely out of your system perhaps. You should probably see a doctor and ensure it's not something more serious than heartburn.

If it does seem like heartburn or GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), Prilosec (omeprazole) and Nexium (esomeprazole) are both over the counter solutions for that without adding a lot of side effects. I do both tadalafil and Nexium. 99% of the time, I have no issues, but doing a bit too much Mexican or Indian can bring on a case of heartburn that I can track back to whatever I ate, all other things being equal. It's in those cases I'll pop a Gaviscon (or two) and that provides very immediate relief for the heartburn/indigestion. Hope that helps.

Never had effects with Cialis.  Seemed more effective without headaches Viagra gave me

Yeah, don't know that one. I'm using for a secondary indication in conjunction with a prostate medication, has this great bonus effect as well. 😉 But I didn't need to get it for any ED indications (knock wood, pardon the pun).

Yes, Cialis can cause heartburn. It is a vasodilator and  smooth muscle relaxant. The lower esophageal sphincter is smooth muscle when it is relaxed by cialis it allows reflux. So ant acids will help.  Vasodilation of blood vessels in head causes headaches. It Can also cause hemorrhoids to enlarge.

used to have issues with headaches, flushing and even heartburn.  Been using Trimix exclusively for about 6 years now and never have any of those issues. It takes some getting used to the idea, but man, does it work well!

Thanks for the helpful input guys, and here's a little follow up on my end.  I've had pretty bad ED for 25 years, but all these things DO work pretty well for me.  I don't take any other meds/pills/nothing except dick pills, so nothing else is interacting.  Trimix has also been my "go to" helper for about 4 years now....I fucking love it, and my cock feels like superman and zero side effects.  The major downside for me is zero spontaneous sex.  LOVE it when I'm hosting or can plan ahead with a hookup, which is the way it usually happens for me.

I do still have a pretty large stash of viagra and cialis (from India) from before I discovered Trimix, and I glanced at it Friday.  My urologist recommended Cialis as an alternative, so I decided to pop one Friday/Sat/Sun even though that was the least effective when I tried it before.  I was already horny and kinda wanted that ongoing fluff in my cock (and also wore a cockring).  I was half hard ALL day Sunday, making a nice bulge and making me even more horny - kept rubbing it making things "worse" - I loved it, but I was burping and feeling the indigestion.  As soon as I got home I did get online and found the right guy to help me with my problem fast 🙂

After this post I took a closer look and realized the pills I have are 20 mg.  That's the max dosage, and when you're taking it daily they recommend 5mg.  5mg did nothing for me when I tried it before, but this made a lot of sense why 20 mg was working so well lol.   So yesterday and this morning I tried a half pill (10mg).  It's not working as well (where it counts), but I have still had a headache and minor indigestion.  I've got a lot of free time right now and wanted to STAY horny and semi hard....I may keep experimenting more and keep going with the 10mg daily to see how it works out over a little longer time.  I may save it for daily use at the higher dosage when I KNOW I'm gonna play a lot and live with the side effects.  I did love how it had me hard and horny all day, but I don't want those side effects every day forever lol.  If I'm only using it for a few days at a time for a play weekend or trip I can take the tums and ibuprofen during that time too then stop.  Right now I'm just horny and have free time and wanna be "ready to go" 🙂

A few comments:

  1. You're correct in that day usage is a 5mg dosage, and generally you can occasionally increase it (though daily is not ideal). You need to build up the 5mg dosage for it to have the desired effect.
  2. Did the doctor prescribe this, or did you source this outside normal medical channels? I see that you ordered this from India, so not sure if they just sent without prescription. Not judging, just curious.
  3. How old are these? Medications can lose efficacy over time as the elements can break down so if you're taking something that's a few years old, it may not have the 'optimal effect' (boner lasting about 4 hours). You might want to speak to your doc and request the daily regimen and also have him work the single dosages into this for those occasions when you know you'll want to get hard and stay hard.

Not sure I'd want to fool around with something that's a couple years old, which it sounds as if it may be since you discovered TriMix.

Also, is it possible that TriMix has ended up causing your response to Cialis to diminish. Something you probably should explore with your doc.

for me 5 mg builds up over time, so by day 3 i'm rock hard constantly. I struggle with seasonal allergies, and C compounds it with stuffiness during spring/early summer. Thought about trying trimix during this time of year when needed.

Thanks for this. It's not necessarily a common side-effect, but you're right that any vasodilator needs to be carefully monitored. That's among the reasons I wouldn't be able to do Viagra since the impacts of that are more pronounced. Nonetheless, I've been on Nexium for years as well, so these can fall under the category of "your mileage may vary".

Just curious, but what is the criteria for getting ED drugs prescribed? I haven't tried for 2 reasons: 1) I've heard about the heartburn and have been on Prilosec under a doctor's care for many years, currently just taking 20 mg once a day and 2) didn't think I really qualified since with the right inspiration I can still go at least twice in the same night in my 50's. I would definitely enjoy being able to go 5-7 times a night again for days on end like I could 15-20 years ago, but think it would be vetoed by the doctor as a purely recreational use.

For me, what I did was I told him I can't get it up and that it's affecting my quality of life.  (This may be a hard sell if you're routinely in for STDs.)  I told him I had tried viagra and cialis and they'd given me headaches and stuffiness (because they had). I asked him about trimix and said that a friend had some and swore by it (which is true).  I did not tell him that  the friend had given me some and I fucked my way through IML and bred the friend all weekend too.  They wrote me a prescription (but to my detriment, my insurance doesn't cover it, so I have to pay for it out of pocket).  It's not cheap - $220 per refill of 4 vials. Usually, I only use one vial in a month.  They last in the freezer for a few months, but only a month or so after you break the seal.  it works for me, but it takes some getting used to the idea of a needle near your dick.  6 years and counting and I wouldn't use anything else.  *Your Mileage May Vary

I had no trouble getting them prescribed. I'm in my 50s and can usually get hard easily enough (unless something is wrong), but it often refuses to stay that way without assistance, and that's all I needed to tell the doc. In particular, it can be finicky about leg position, level of hydration, and tightness of orifice. It's hard enough to find opportunities out here in the sticks without having to have a perfect alignment of conditions to get it to work.

However, getting them *paid for* is a different matter entirely. My insurance (which is decent) will not cover them if prescribed for ED, only for other conditions and then only in the smaller dose (i.e. not effective for ED). There are a bunch of ways to deal with that. The best I've found is to have the Rx sent to a pharmacy that takes GoodRx coupons (suggested by someone on here, thanks again!). Doing it that way I wound up paying about $1.50 a pill (as opposed to - not kidding - $70-80/pill).

Get him to indicate it's for enlarged prostate. The insurance company will generally cover it under that, but... SingleCare and GoodRX will bring down the price of the generics sufficiently that you might not need to hassle with your insurance. Before my current insurance kicked in, my pricing ended up being under $40/month.
