Viagra versus Cialis

Recommended Posts

I decided to take the plunge and experiment with an ED drug for my upcoming sexcation. I decided to go with Cialis at the 5mg dose, due to it being longer lasting than viagra, after consulting with an online "physician". Did I make the right choice? How long is it likely to work? What is the potential downside for someone who doesn't really have ED, but just wants to be able to perform like they did 20+ years ago? I'm not planning on taking it as a daily regime, but just using it on demand for a big event.

For the background, at 55 I can still get hard and perform a couple of time a day most, but not all of the time. Until my late 30's I could regular get hard and cum 7 times in a few hours time for 3 or 4 consecutive days. I'm not a drug user, and don't suffer from hypertension, but do suffer from acid reflux so I am a little concerned about that. I have been experimenting very cautiously with some of the supplements so far the only one that has had any effect is this  [think before following links] [think before following links] https://www.fda.gov/drugs/medication-health-fraud/platinum-69000-rhino-69-contains-hidden-drug-ingredient I know it has me popping boners like a teen for 3 days after taking one. The reasons I'm not continuing with the supplement, is it is more expensive, who knows how long I will be able to find it, and don't know what else might be in it.

I use Cialis - prescribed for 20mg but usually take only half a tablet, which seems to be sufficient mostly. I figure on those occasions where I'm feeling a need for a performance boost, it's usually an outing of some kind (hotel, sex club, or bookstore) - if it's just a one-off I wouldn't bother. Hence the longer duration of action is a plus.

In my opinion the potential downsides are needing to avoid poppers (which I occasionally do enjoy) and the potential for headaches (which don't seem to be much problem for me at 10mg dosage). The advantage of consistently maintaining an erection is worth it - I can almost always get one, but going limp in the middle of the action is really a buzzkill, especially when I'm consistently expected to be topping for at least part of the scene.

I have no problem getting hard if I'm turned on in the ways I'm wired to respond to, but like having the safety net of one of these solutions in case it's something the breeder wants:

I tried both and here's my experience:

  • I found Viagra caused sharp headaches and I had a sense of my body being altered after having taken it. I do have genetic high blood pressure and can feel when my blood pressure is high in my body, taking Viagra feels like my blood pressure is high. Not pleasant.
  • I found Cialis didn't make me feel altered and was pretty effective. That's what I've stuck with. I get 20mg tablets, cut them in half, and take 10mg when I'm hooking up. They last a couple of days from a 10mg dose.

Last Saturday a Latino boy got me hard with his mouth and nipple play and rode my cock before pulling out and fucking me hard and fast. Pretty rare for me, and I think the Cialis made it easier.

We landed in the same place.

Since I already have hypertension, I can't take poppers anyway, so no great loss for me.

Cialis can also reduce an enlarged prostate. That was my initial use of Cialis. I was having a little trouble with urinating and it helped a lot.

I try not to take it everyday since you can develop a tolerance.

It also appears to help reduce the prostate swelling and soreness after getting an intense fucking.

interesting. i did not know any of this.

i currently take cialis (i think 5mg) daily that my dr who treats my low testosterone prescribed. honestly, i'm not sure i notice any real affect.

but my ED is apparently emotional per my GP, this guy, and my shrink. i was hoping it would help as a placebo but i guess that only works if you're not in on the ruse.

my boners randomly show up unexpectedly depending on how my dick feels about the guy, which doesn't always match how my brain feels. they have different tastes apparently. the worst is when it randomly decides to get hard as a rock for guys who are "ew - i don't suck dick." which frustrates me to no end. if future me went back in time to tell past me that "someday, str8 guys will willing want to try sucking dick just to try it, and some self described gay guys won't suck dick at all" i'd be like "get lost nut job!" but here we have it. life in the modern world! 😜

I don't use poppers, so I don't have to worry about that.

I don't have prostate issues, so I didn't know about or consider that aspect.

I do get psychological ED, if I find myself at a sex spot or event where there isn't any sex happening. I've know about that for almost 20 years, and it has probably always been true. If I'm at a sex club or event I'm horny and ready to go, and get extremely sexually frustrated when there isn't even fucking to watch. So far that hasn't happened on the nights I've taken Rhino supplement that contains the illicit Sildenafil. I will probably test that theory later this summer with the Cialis. No fucking season is in full effect every year between July 4th and Labor Day here, so I will no doubt give in to my natural horniness (I've always been hornier in the summer than any other time of year) and head to the local bath, park, ABS, or nude beach (most likely all of them) and wind up doing little more than frustrating myself.

Has anyone had it cause their acid reflux to flare up? I'm on Omneprazol and stick to my diet but still suffer regular flare ups.

Gay romantic asexual men are a major frustration for me. I'll take a straight or bi guy looking to experiment over the gays in the sex clubs looking to have the kind of "sex" where no one has to to touch anyone elses icky dick. I find perpetual foreplay and cuddling to be extremely sexually frustrating, but they are always in the majority here in Portland. For some reason the guys who do actually have sex seem to disappear once the rains stop in early July and don't reappear until it starts raining again in September. It definitely puts a damper on outdoor hooking up, and I love hooking up and fucking in the great outdoors.

Just to confirm, while it is medically shown it can treat benign prostatic hyperplasia and symptoms of an enlarged prostate, the reduction of prostate swelling after sex is just something that *I* noticed.

I take Cialis twice a week at 20mg. It sticks around in your bloodstream longer than viagra does so this helps me with boner problems post prostate cancer treatment. Works well for me.

I take a different med for helping me pee post treatment. It's called (cue cliche As Seen on TV announcer voice) FLOWMAX. Yep.

I'm learning a lot, I had heard of FLOWMAX from 2 friends who were on it at the same time, after being hospitalized for kidney stones.

I was wondering about taking one and then waiting till the effects ran out before taking another, assuming the desirable effects lasted more than 24 hours.

I phrase that as "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. ☹️😖🤬"

You'll have to tell us if you made the right choice. 😜

Having taken both in the past, I'm the poster child for Viagra! It stays in my system for ~18 hours and I can pretty much get hard at will even after I can no longer cum without an 8-hour rest/reset. I'm MEH about Cialis though. For me it seemed to work the second time and then turn off. Like you, I don't need either for the first fuck/orgasm. But since some point into my sixth decade on this plane of existence, no matter how into it I might be, there was drooping during the second and subsequent fucks. So I take it before the first fuck knowing that it will help the second (and third if we get there).

I started with one of those online plans with 100mg generic Viagra. At first it was a white tablet that worked just as well for me as the blue pill! Then at some point they switched to a blue pill (but I was backlogged with white tablets cause I was busy doing things other than having sex). I finally got through the backlog and started taking the blue pills, and they did NOTHING for me! Once is a fluke, twice is a problem, three times is HELL to the NO! So I contacted Customer Support and they swore that the blue pills were exactly the same as the white tablets. BS! So I told them to cancel my subscription, and they told me I had to cancel it myself. 🤬 I put it on hold. Through experimentation I discovered that 1.5 blue pills is almost as good as one white tablet.

Viagra does give me a headache (but I just take Aleve with the pill) AND it dries out my sinuses. That's how I know it works. (Well, in addition to the constant bloodflow into my dick... 😜) I don't take Aleve with the 1.5 generic Viagra though. 🤔

You and I are quite different in that respect. Just proves the old, "different strokes for different folks" adage.

Viagra’s side effects messed with me…flushed red face, pain behind my eyes, etc.

Now I’m on 20mg of Cialis a day and have no side effects. Really like Cialis.
