PozTalkAuthor Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 and social media polarization doesn't help.  Commercial social media are built with this philosophy in mind: the more you interact, the more you get visible. And what creates more interactions? Love? No, hate speech.  So, the paradox is you have no sex material consultation freedom, but hatred is openly permitted.  1 Quote

Most of them realize that they can't simply murder every gay guy or girl, that would be far too enormous a task. And what would they wind up with? Nothing more than millions of bodies, with new GLBT+-to-be babies being born every single day.  The real issue at hand isn't this facet of freedom or that facet; It's freedom itself. This is what seeking to control everyone else is about; freedom for some, and worse for everyone else unlike them. Coexistence is the only way there will be room for everyone to share the planet. The hatreds used to be more limited; to religions other than one's own, for instance. However, the more millions of us there are to share diminishing resources, the more the hatreds gnaw at the minds of the selfish. The issue of who's fucking who is only the mask; the real problem is people's propensity to hate each other.  Trump & his degenerate band of even further right than NAZIS, have got the Republican school of HATRED well & truly fuelled 😤🤬🤬 for their efforts over the next (GOD WILLING) only 2yrs. 2 Quote
bare28 Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 As far as the UK goes: write to your MP, make them aware of the monster the previous right-wing government has created, start a petition, go out and demonstrate. Use your civil rights to protest. All the outrage here is an echo-chamber unless parliament gets heard and acts. Don't make the same mistake as quite a large number or voters did in the 2016 "referendum" and think: oh, it will be all right. 1 Quote

Jasenotts Posted Monday at 09:38 AM Report Posted Monday at 09:38 AM Going back in time to the days before websites like this, and even more so apps on phones, most of my meet ups with other men for sex were at outdoor cruising locations and occasional sauna visits. Over the last 20 years outdoor cruising has declined in a big way and most of the saunas even in large cities like London have closed. When I was last in London I visited Hampstead Heath on a warm dry evening and there was hardly anyone there and no crowds like there were 20 years ago. Im recent years when I have been visiting a large city in the U.K. I have used websites like this one, BBRT and Squirt to research and plan meets. Usually the meet has ended up being in my hotel room using apps like Grindr. If there is to be a block in the UK on using many of these online sites it will become much harder to plan and get meets in hotels. Does anyone know if apps like Grindr are also going to come under the rules of this block? Perhaps there will be a big revival in outdoor cruising and sauna visits as that could once again be the only way some of us could easily meet. 1 Quote

There will, out of necessity, be a resurgence of bars (leather, Biker, rubber etc) & Clubs (Club 80, Melbourne 🇦🇺) where guys can cruise, get a room, relax in lounges with coffee & get their style of fuck etc. 1 Quote

It’s true there are less saunas in London but they exist still and I prefer them to meeting people through apps where the anonymity facilitates rudeness from so many.  Saunas have adapted with naked days and other more specialised events which draw bigger numbers.  My favourite saunas are the more basic ones where I have found people are friendly and up for some fun. Also outdoor cruising still continues albeit with smaller numbers. Quote

UK’s Ofcom has issued really strict guidelines for implementation of the child protection act. The cost to comply makes compliance impossible. And, while I have no business presence in the UK, the legal ties between the US and the UK are close and I’d rather not risk the rather hefty fines (£18M). Unlike what red states are doing it looks like this will affect social media like X and Telegram since it doesn’t have the exemption for less than 1/3rd adult content. So I expect this to be a major news story in the coming months. Oh, and the block should work better than the red state block since it’s an entire country (countries don’t exchange IP addresses like states do). Lastly… Voting matters! Don’t just sit there and complain. I did vote, but it is still happening. The issue is this will never be repealed even if ends up obviously not doing what it is supposed to. Because "think of the children" unfortunately. Quote
