Listing of gay bars with active backrooms

Does anyone know of a good listing of bars with active backrooms? I have work travel coming up to several, new for me regions, in the next few months, and would love to know where these might be, but can't find a good source to find out where they exist.

I'm kind of late to the game on this kind of cruising, I'm not much of a drinker so really don't generally gravitate to the bars, but I am a bit of an exhibitionist and did greatly enjoy fucking and getting fucked on the patio at The Barracks in Palm Springs a few times before they closed.

What a great question and also good on you for wanting to have more fun in the backrooms. As someone who has played extensively in backrooms in the area that I reside in both past and present I highly recommend it. Also played in other cities as well. I completely agree with bars too the bar scene can be a little intimidating especially if not a drinker. I will say lately I have had fun at bars both playing and non playing and in the backrooms and out of the backrooms without needing alcohol. I was curious about this so I looked into sniffies and adam4adam and squirt. Squirt and sniffies are the closest because you can filter bars on squirt but you still have to read comments to see if there is active play. Sniffies you can sort through bars unfortunately but if it's active people generally comment if there is play. I actually google searched this because I was curious myself.

It looks like gaycities website is going to be your best friend for this. I looked up my specific city and selected bars category. Under filter select the drop down for "vibes". If it's there you will see an option that says "The backrooms" and that filter will show any bars that have backrooms. You can check the description and ratings too. My city shows one bar that has a backroom and it's 100% true but with a caveat not all nights and also at a specific time. I would recommend probably calling the bar in advance. And I know people do this because I went to that specific bar early on a specific night and before I ordered a drink someone called the bar asking if the backroom is open and the bartender told them it's not open until a specific time. 

I have travelled a bit in the past as well so to further verify I looked up Chicago. And one of the bars there it looks like Cellblock has a backroom listed on gaycities. I do vaguely remember going there and seeing some of the backroom area and it was interesting I don't think I fully played in there though maybe a little. Ft. Lauderdale lists Ramrod and I do remember playing at that bar both in and out of the backroom years ago that was fun. Also keep in mind depending on the city there might be more public exhibition play even outside of bars that have or don't have backrooms. I know for a fact that people play at other bars even if they aren't backrooms. Some cities can be more uninhibited and more exhibitionist then others though.

That's the only listing I've really found. I also look under type = cruising. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play in any cities that had anything listed.

I'm in Chicago several times a year, but haven't tried to hookup there since moving out of the Midwest almost 30 years ago. If I can ever get away from family while I'm there, I'm sure I could find what I'm looking for. Portland has a cruising bar, but it isn't active for anything that meets my definition of sex.

Sadly, the operative word in the above phrase is "years ago".  Ramrod has faded in the celebratory breeding arena, one the Eagle (a few blocks up Wilton Manors Dr) opened.  It's still a fun bar, but the "ups & extras" are no more, other than an occasional hookup in the backbar.  Apparently, in the wee hours there's still some action - 2: am'ish, - but that's only on weekends when guys don't have to get up and go to work in the morning.  RR used to be jammed to the rafters with men breeding each other, from evening until closing.  Eagle isn't all that far - maybe a dozen blocks north, first building on 6th Ave - and they do have a "dress code", however there is still action available for non-Leathermen.  Of course, there's always Slammer too ...

Fuck. Yeah it was like somewhere between 10-12 years ago. I have so many good memories from ramrod even though I only went there twice I think. I kinda heard years ago of a resurgence of eagles popping up. I don't know remember if there was one in ft Lauderdale at the time. For some reason I was focused on ramrod. 

That's good that there is some action at the eagle at least I've had good times playing at an eagle in another location in the past. Ahh slammers 123 right? Hopefully that hasn't changed that place was incredibly fun. If I recall they had a BYOB option too.

Sniffies is good for finding venues. You can tell if there’s a back room based on the comments people leave. Of course, they’re rare in the U.S. compared with Europe and elsewhere.

Back then, RR was the very best breedbar around.  You may recall the "patio bar", which is actually outside, covered by tarps in the event of rain.  Back when you remember it, after around 10pm it was so full of guys fucking each other you couldn't walk through that area.  Guys would have to wait for a guy to leave and try to grab that spot.  If you had to take a piss, god help you if there wasn't a piss-guy  within reach.  The later at night it was, the more crammed full of guys it got.  There was (still is, for that matter) also a pool table adjacent to the main bar in front, which was covered at night with a sheet of plywood,  Bottoms would line up - shoulder to shoulder - all around the pool table, with the Tops crammed in behind them, also all around the pool table.  I remember one night, a rather "heavy-set" guy trying to squeeze himself into the area around the table, and being rather rudely told he would displace too many slimmer Tops busy fucking holds.  Then, after closing (when guys had to leave RR), they'd go behind a used furniture store on the corner, and keep going all night long.  At the time, I had a dog, and we'd have our morning walk fairly early - and sometimes there were still a decent number of guys fucking each other.  Of course, that corner was on our (the dog and I) morning "walk" route, and occasionally a guy would "fall in" next to me, following me home, if I wanted.   Generally, I've never been much of a "morning man", but .... occasionally .... well, you get the scenario.   Those days are long gone now, but I'm glad I got to experience it. 

My barber insists that currently, there's a commercial building across the street from RR where guys go behind the building and breed, but there are tall metal fences in front of every building over there, and they only open during regular business hours.  Tangentially though, I do find evidence of filthy goings-on in my front yard occasionally.  I have those thick, double-paned windows, so the only way I'd hear anything is if I left them open ... which I don't; the A/C is costly enough to run.

Those days are long gone now, but I'm happy I got to experience it.

Does anyone have information on backrooms in San Francisco or the Bay Area? I'm over due for a sexcation weekend, and that would be an easy destination, for whatever reason I've never played in San Francisco and other than a vacation where I drove the California coast, but didn't get to play, my only experiences with the Bay area is getting marooned late at night by the airlines and spending the night at an airport hotel before hopping on an early morning flight. I see a couple of bars listed on Gaycities, and remember hearing good things about Powerhouse years ago.

What about LA, I definitely know other kinds venues for hooking up there, any bars with fucking?

Sacramento is another easy one for me to get to, but other than 1 night marooned at an airport hotel have never left the airport there.

There's none that I know of in Reno, Las Vegas or Phoenix, but feel free to educate me if I'm wrong.
