I went to pick up my Truvada/PrEP prescription on Saturday and the price had gone up about $12 (my plan pays 80% so that's about $60 retail). I made some remark about it usually being lower and the pharmacist said her other job is at a hospital ordering wholesale drugs and she recently noticed that the wholesale price of Truvada had gone up. When she asked about it she was told there was a shortage of the drug. It would seem that PrEP has been more popular than Gilead expected and they're not able to keep up with the demand. Or the cynical side of me wonders if they're trying to profit off a market where they're the only approved drug. Hopefully it's not that and it's just a production capacity problem and it'll get resolved soon.

BearBandit's answer was thorough, but the simple answer is that when a poz guy takes a poz load most of the time his original strain of HIV and the meds he's taking will fight it off, but every now and then the new strain can win and the guy has to change meds. I vaguely remember hearing of one study that said that poz guys who took loads from other poz guys actually had lower viral loads. I think it was a study of poz couples. The theory was that constantly being challenged with helped the local strain and the body fight off new strains. Maybe someone else will recall that study more clearly than me.

Personally I separate sex and friendships. I can't cum with guys I know. The less I know about someone, the better. So I like anonymous scenes like the ones JizzDump is bemoaning. Judge has slapped a $1 million bail on him, and as far as I know he hasn't managed to come up with the bail, so he's just sitting there in jail. Straight friends of ours from the porn biz come to NYC for vacations from time to time. NYC has pretty strict laws on what's allowed in terms of nudity and sexual interaction in businesses (especially ones serving liquor). All I can say is the things they do in their straight clubs would generate huge fines and possibly closures if they happened in a gay bar or club. There's a huge double standard at play. Gilead will cover $200/month. $1000/month means the insurance company isn't paying for any of it. I'm a little surprised by that. Most insurance companies will cover it since they can't tell the difference between Truvada for a poz guy and Truvada as PrEP for a neg guy. Could the $1000 be a deductible that ends after the first month and then you have coverage?

For the record ,nearly 4,000 people have been able to figure out how to permission themselves for the things they want to see. I'm still amazed when people contact me for help on this issue. I suspect there's a proxy server involved that's cached another user's page result. Thing is, proxies aren't supposed to cache SSL secured pages. What sort of device/computer are you using? What type of Internet connection? If you can change your network connection and try again that will test my theory. Or do something like try the page on your cell phone over a cellular network. Or, if it is a mid-stream caching issue if you give it a little time the cache will expire and when you try again you should see the image.

You get full protection after 5 days on PrEP. Studies are underway to see if there's full protection at lower doses.

Just an update… I went off for a couple days, then got nervous and went back on for a couple days, then went off for nearly a week, then got nervous and went back on. I also changed which bed I was sleeping in and the change of bed seems to have gotten rid of 90% of the pains I was having. So thinking it was side effects of PrEP was just needless worry, AFAIK. Unless being off for a week was enough to clear things up.

I disagree. I want to know who's within walking distance and I never can tell on zip code based systems like BBRT. Often the zip code isn't where they actually are, and even if it is, there are parts of my zip code that are a long walk away, and parts of other zip codes that are just a couple blocks away. There are better tools for geolocation these days. I'll have a feature on the site to find the location of addresses. Yes, but then it broke and since it was written by someone else, utilized data that's now really old, and not all that important, I never fixed it. However, that map didn't give actual location. It was more of a rough guess of a location that at best was a few blocks off.

That is not going to happen. It sorta makes no sense. It means you can't find guys near you and make connections except when they're horny. If guys just want to chat, they can come here. I'm trying to figure out the balance between the features you really need without going overboard to the point where there are so many features it gets confusing. This, however, is along the lines of what I was thinking. "Deletion" will mean something like 6 to 12 months of being hidden, followed by actual deletion. That way people can take a break but still reclaim their profiles if they want and start back where they left off.
