For most of my life from puberty onwards I considered myself straight/bi-curious. Growing up in a conservative area of western Canada and going through puberty right as the aids epidemic took off, I heavily repressed my curiosity. I think this is the best answer. There is no easy answer. Canada is similar to US with the "Romeo and Juliet" laws. It is finding the correct balance between giving young adults freedom but protecting them from predators. No matter what governments do there will always be people who think it overkill or not enough.
