    I should have explained better but I am on PrEP now. At the time it wasn't available until the UK at all, now that had changed and I was on it as part of the Impact Trial. Now I'm on it as a fully available drug for free via any sexual health clinic in the UK. We were just slightly behind the times with Prep here.

    Hey Oinker, PrEP and PEP are two different things. PEP stands for Post Exposire Prophylaxis, so its taken within 72 hours of exposure for around 30 days to prevent an HIV infecton. PrEP on the other hand is PRE-Exposure Prophylaxis, so you take it daily or event based before sex to prevent infection. They each use different combinations of drugs.

I have a condition called Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans (BXO), which causes the skin to split on the foreskin and can also cause inflammation and tightening (Phimosis). While steroid creams work I initially the only permanent solution is to get circumcised.     Well this is the first time I've ever struggled to access sexual health services here in the UK. CALLED my local clinic and the earliest appointment I could get is over 2 weeks away even though I have symptoms. Normally it's within 24 hours The only option they could offer is walk in clinic which could take up to 4 hours to see me. I work full time so it's not like I can just drop everything to sit and wait for hours. What I don't understand is why they can't offer more appointments. Anyone had any issues like this before or any info on better access to testing/home tests in the UK?
