I'm back from my trip to Berlin. Returning to Lab.oratory was a great idea. The entrance is in same left position of the Berghain club but the door moved i noticed. Tip 1. Get their early!!!! they open on Fridays 10-12 - get there at least 9:30 -there was already 100 guys on line by the time I showed up at 9:45 and another 100 behind me. The fee is 10Euro now. I know the door guy had some bad rep but i found the experience just fine. They give you a wrist wrap for the night for buying bar drinks. and give you a bag for clothing. At end of night you collect your bag -dress and go pay your tab. Bring receipt to the doorman and then go. The place is as big as i remember if not bigger now. I noticed a dance club back deep in the club with stairwells going up to the rail promenade that overlooks the dance floor- i didn't remember this at all. The dark room is still same, the barn rooms with slings by the right of the bar still there. the gloryholes in back - new addition -they had those Czech booths-where you climb in and hoist your legs in straps and your butt is open to all but you and they can't see you. Of course the fail in this is that all the guys just went around to the entrance to see who it was in this booth. I only saw it used twice but definitely was fun. I just got back from Gran Canaria. I first visited 18 years ago and truly one of the best trips i still have ever taken. It was before the place was really popular as it is and it was just glorious , scenary, beach, the Yumbo was so raw then and the guys so hot. I was a young man then but now returning i barely remembered much i didn't even realize the Yumbo Center had 4 floors - the center of Maspalomoas where every shop, activity food, shopping, backroom bars, sauna is located so this is where day/evenings end. Stay- i stayed at Axelbeach hotel- for Bear Carnival- hotel is very close to Yumbo, gay friendly but all the crap you read about hookups in sauna-be real-its a size of a small closet - forget it - the hotel very gay friendly but not cruisy definitely saw no signs of that while i was there. and the fact the host of Bear Carnival was disappointing.
