    I know it sounds paradoxical but undetectable poz guys are safer than your random supposedly neg guy. I know this is utterly verboten to speak of on this site, but if you can't handle the possibility of becoming poz, don't bareback with casual partners and use condoms until you get on PrEP.

    No, you can't file a restraining order against an unknown person or a pseudonym. But hopefully the officer was able to deduce his real name so you can start the process. Did you write his license plate number?

    Go to your local courthouse and definitely file a restraining order against the person even if the police are uncooperative. If you can, get a lawyer to type a nice cease and desist order against the person and grease the wheels of the local police department. Is his phone number available on the caller ID? The police should be able to do a basic reverse lookup.

    My doctor believes I might have some underlying immune deficiency that causes false negatives on various antibody tests, but I wonder if I should have to worry about my HIV status given that I have tested way past the established window period. Are standard antibody-only HIV tests failsafe in this situation?

    I was honest until I was flagged as a "non-compliant patient" in an electronic medical records system by a vindictive doctor. I've stopped seeing doctors because I've been effectively blacklisted.

    I live in Virginia and I can only see doctors within the managed care Medicaid plan. And the contracted insurance company has the legal option to restrict patients to one doctor and one hospital if it is determined you are unnecessarily using excessive resources, at least in Virginia. My PCP said that PrEP was "experimental" and that she didn't want to be liable, and only allowed me to see the ID doc after I asked for a second opinion.

    I'm worried that I'll lose my Medicaid because I've had to see so many doctors that I'm afraid they'll put me on a "safe choices" bs program preventing me from seeing my ID Doc.

    I still have a few pills, but I don't think it'd be enough to protect me on the as needed dosing. I'm worried that should I get infected with HIV that I might have Truvada resistant HIV.. How many days after I stop taking PrEP can I have sex without fear of drug resistant HIV?

    Yeah and the insurance rejected it because it's "not on the formulary." I had to go to the public health department for treatment, and the clinic there said based on my results it was late latent syphilis. I've gotten tested every year so it was a shock to me! I've been having mono-like symptoms though lately... I wonder if it could be HIV? I've been tested for mono and strep throat and had my flu shot. I've had a negative HIV test at eight weeks after a possible exposure, although I played with a guy since then unprotected when I was on PrEP for a week.

    Saw my GP. Asked to get a penicillin shot. Turns out my Medicaid plan requires a prior authorization for it. Pfft.

    Three weeks ago, I had a red bump on my dick. The Monday before last, my eyelashs had become ingrown which was later discovered to be due to conjunctivitis of the eye. I later noticed my first sexual partner had suddenly become very ill with some weird neurological issues since we last met up, so I went to the doctor almost immediately to get a full STD panel. Today, I was told I may or may not have syphilis based on the screening they did: my initial test was negative, but a confirmatory test was done for some reason and it was reactive... TL;DR: I'm hoping it's a false positive, but can syphilis be treated with just a single penicillin shot in the ass?

    From my meager knowledge of biology, I don't think the antigen test tests for RNA but rather for a protein HIV produces? I've read however there is a rapid test out there that tests for both the antigen and HIV antibody, but I don't know about its reliability or cost.

    Received my HIV- test results, but it turns out that there was a lab screwup, and I got the regular 3rd generation test instead of the fourth generation test the doctor ordered... And that Medicaid didn't apparently cover the blood work as I got a bill for it...

    I had my bloodwork for PrEP done on Thursday and I didn't get a call today about my test results. Does the antibody/antigen test take longer than the regular HIV test?

    Finally saw the ID doc and we did the blood work then. He will call it in at the pharmacy if my tests come back normal. He seems to be of the old school and insists I use condoms in addition to PrEP.

    Thanks for the info, but I'm on Medicaid so I'm not eligible. The ID doc is seeking pre-approval for his labs, but one test really stuck out for me: I dunno why they need to run an HIV genotype if I haven't tested positive?

    I stepped in the infectious disease clinic today and discovered that apparently they have only had one patient on PrEP before. I called my insurance and they said Truvada should be covered. The intake nurse said the test for HIV they use for recent exposure might not be covered however. I'm hoping when I see the ID doc, he could educate my GP on PrEP.

    I don't live in a very big metro area. I wish it were easy as that. I live near Virginia Beach where Pat Robertson and his Christian Broadcasting Network are broadcasted. I'm thinking after I graduate from community college that I'll attend school near DC. I still live with my parents and lied to my mother about having multiple sex partners just to test the waters; she unsurprisingly freaked out.

    I discussed PrEP with my primary care doctor and she didn't seem to hear about it. She only could find out of date studies on it in her medical literature. I gave up dealing with her and asked to see an infectious disease doctor at the local medical school since they would seem to be on top of medical breakthroughs. Was that a bad idea? I'd like her to stay on as my doctor for my general issues, so I don't really want to change doctors.

    We were so turned on that we went along sans condom. I was glad that I successfully fucked for the first time a guy, but I don't know why I couldn't come at all. I had experienced sexual trauma in the past that I don't know if that was the reason or if it was due to the psychotropic medications I'm on to treat it. Maybe I'm just used to my hand... I would definitely do it again on PrEP.

    I was considering going on PrEP actually for my next doctor visit this upcoming week, but I dunno if she would feel comfortable prescribing it because HIV is not her speciality. I live in America and have Medicaid so I wonder if it is covered.
